Whatever we do to the least of the body of Christ we do to Him. Together, by sharing our troubles and problems we can be a support for each other and be the one that is able to seek God and point them to the solution. So don't keep your problems to yourself anymore. Share them. ~ DickEvans.org

Focus

If we stay focused on God and let Holy Spirit guide us in all that we do, the enemy can't catch us off guard and careless. If we drift off, God’s voice will bring us right back on track. But the key is that we must be always listening for Him. We must be very aware of His presence in our lives. ~ DickEvans.org

Who's in Control

Ephesians 2:1-2 NKJV
And you He made alive, who were dead in trespasses and sins, in which you once walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit who now works in the sons of disobedience,

2 Corinthians 4:3-4
But even if our gospel is veiled, it is veiled to those who are perishing, whose minds the god of this age has blinded, who do not believe, lest the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God, should shine on them.

Satan may be the prince of the air and the god of this age, but he's not in control of any believer. He does control all who are without Jesus as they fall into his traps and deceptions. They are sons and daughters of disobedience.

Genesis 3:1 NJV
Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

He is a subtle serpent and we give satan control as we allow doors to be opened up by giving in to his misdirection and temptations. Even as we allow own thoughts to bring us back into our earthly passions and desires we are giving him control.

As we keep our focus on Jesus satan has no control over us at all. When we know who we are in Christ we cannot be sick. We cannot be depressed. We cannot be filled with stress and anxiety.

There are consequences for our actions in this human body. As we let things like unforgiveness dwell in us we open up the door for Satan to have sickness come upon us.

In Christ we are healed. We are free from burdens. We are free from all strife. We are righteous. We are holy.

So are we going to let Satan have control by giving in to the the desires of the flesh, his misdirections, his temptations? Or are we giving our all over to God allowing Him to rule and reign over us?

The Bride

Jesus is coming back soon, but we don't know the day or the hour. He will come like a thief in the night, yet as believers we will not be surprised. He is returning for His bride but it will be business as usual until He does. The only preparation He left for us is to prepare the bride; to add as many as possible to the wedding list, but not as spectators. No, each of us is an integral part of the body of Christ and together we are His bride. ~ DickEvans.org

We Changed

Many of us have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We changed in that instant from the inside out. We became filled with the light from the Lord. But if we did not change our lifestyle, no one would ever know. To the world we would still be that regular person doing all the worldly things we always did. Others meet Christ through our changed lives. We need to let His light shine; let Him change us. ~ DickEvans.org

Praise Him

Our Father in Heaven loves us and He loves our praise, too. Shouldn't it be easier to praise Him for all He does then our favorite team? Sure it should, but the enemy works hard to feed us excuses for not taking the time to do it. It is time to shut him up and proclaim the glory of our Father God. Praise Him with our lips and above all praise Him with our actions day in and day out. Proclaim His name in all our accomplishments. ~ DickEvans.org

Appearance

God wants us to look past a person's appearance to get a glimpse of who they really are. After all, as believers we are all sons and daughters of God the Father, believers of Jesus. He sees past the facade of outward appearance and idle chatter. So should we see others as He sees them. ~ DickEvans.org

Revelation

No matter how long we have been on this transformation journey, we have much to learn. God speaks to everyone at the point they need. He gives them revelation needed to propel them forward to the next step. We need to pattern our lives around the lives of those in our circle of friends that are part of His circle of friends; around those that let the Holy Spirit lead them in all they do. ~ DickEvans.org

One Spirit

We are one spirit with the Lord. That is an awesome realization. He is in us and we are in Him. As we mature in our relationship with Him, we begin to know what He wants and think what He thinks. Let's remember that the next time we choose to do something that brings us back to our old self. The next time we want to defile our bodies with things of this world, let's think twice and remember that we are one with Christ. ~ DickEvans.org

Crawling out of Poverty

 Psalm 113:7 
He raises the poor from the dust and lifts the needy from the ash heap; 

We think poverty and we think lack of money and things. We think of getting help from the government. We think of being homeless. We think of living in filth and rags. It is not a pretty picture. But poverty may be upon an otherwise wealthy person as well.

We are speaking of spiritual not financial, although it could be both.

We can be trapped in a mindset that calls us poverty stricken. A mindset we either grew up in or one that circumstances of life has trapped us in. Oh how can I ever get out from under?

In Christ we have all He has and He is not poor. He told us that in the beatitudes.

Matthew 5:3 
Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. 

As we step out and walk with Holy Spirit He teaches us all things. As we depend on His guidance, He will provide opportunities for us to step into.

We must be open to His guidance if we are to propel out of this poverty mindset. Once we know that we know who we are in Christ we cannot stay in that state.

In Christ the Full favor of God is on us. With His favor and guidance opportunities abound in our life. We just need to hang on and love the life He has planned for us.

Philippians 4:19 
And my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. 

As you walk in God's favor doors will open and people will come to assist as you walk on the new paths that will propel you out of the traps you have been in. He will supply all your needs.

Father God, help me to see the opportunities you have for me to grow spiritually and financially so I will be able to do the work you have destined me to do. Help me to walk the walk you have for me. In Jesus name, I pray. Amen.

New Bread

We look at our lives before and after Christ. Those things that we were into before Him is like the old bread. It is stale and cold; not good for us eat. Yet, there are times when we may slip back and take a bite or two. It is the new bread that is fresh and nourishing to our bodies. And it is the new bread of purity and truth that we must eat to walk forward in our journey with Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Sin

Sure, we all sin. We all say things we should not say and sometimes we do things we know we should not do. When He speaks to us through the prodding of Holy Spirit and we fail to respond, that is sin. Whatever we do that takes our focus off God is sin. Thank God for His grace and His mercy. ~ DickEvans.org

His Leading

People will come to know God by knowing us, if we are living by God's power. They will see Him in us as we walk with Him each day. We need to be renewing our minds by reading His Word. As we listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His leading, others will see the evidence of His presence and look to follow Him. ~ DickEvans.org

The Messenger

We are ambassadors of Christ. We need to be the Christian that others can follow. We don't want others to miss the message becasue of the messenger. We need to teach by example and not with empty words. We need to be Jesus for others to follow. ~ DickEvans.org

Diligent

Be diligent in your pursuit of God. Get close to Him so he can clean out all of those secret places; so that He can wash them in Jesus' blood. ~ DickEvans.org

The Same

We are all the same in God’s eyes. He made us and all that He made is good. All that we have we have because of Him. So let's stop envying others for what they might have and stop flaunting what we think we have that is so great. Nothing of value can be accomplished without God. All that we have is because of Him. Shut My Mouth

Galatians 5:16
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.

If it isn't Jesus doing the talking through us our mouth should be shut and our eyes and ears open. They should be open for opportunities to minister to those around us. Opportunities to let go and let Jesus.

We should be open to let Jesus use our hands or feet and our mouth. Isn't that what it's all about? We are new creatures in this old human body. And Yet our old self still wants to break through and commands attention.

It is up to us to make the choice, to make the conscious decision to allow our spirit to be in the forefront pushing our flesh further behind.

The term die to self, what does it really mean? Those selfish fleshly thoughts and desires are there. But each time we think about them or try to act on them we have a choice to make. It is our choice to look to Jesus. It is our choice to walk in the spirit.

So let's stop fooling ourselves. Let's get rid of all these fleshly desires and give them over to God. Let's walk in the spirit of Jesus right there in the open with us every day, every way, every place we go.

Father God help me to see when I'm in the flesh. Help me to just turn that moment over to you and look to Jesus. Help me to spend every moment of every day in the spirit. Help me to allow Jesus to walk and talk and touch others. I ask all this in Jesus name. Amen.

Faithful

It is up to us keep ourselves faithful to God and thank Him for His forgiveness as we wander from the left to the right while trying to keep to the path He has for us. We must judge all that we do for ourselves, but not trust even that judgment. We must look to the Holy Spirit to guide us through and teach us daily. ~ DickEvans.org

Listen

God works miracles among us because He loves us. He gave us the Holy Spirit to comfort us and to guide us into all Truth. He also tries to nudge us away from untruth. But the choice is always ours to listen to Him and to obey or to ignore. ~ DickEvans.org

Differences

We may look different and dress different. We may have long hair or short hair. We may be a man or a woman. In the world's eye we are not the same. But in Christ we are the same. We are one with Jesus. We have the same Holy Spirit. We have the same power within us. We have been given the same promises. We are all different yet we are all the same. As believers we are all Christians and we are all one in Christ Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

One Word

There is only one Word, one Christ Jesus. We must be careful not to let tradition take us away from Truth. We must get in His Word, stay in His Word, and in all we do test everything by His Word so we aren't deceived into sin. ~ DickEvans.org

The Web

As I look back over the last few decades I can see the web satan has been weaving. We must be careful who we listen to. And when we do listen, we must test all we hear and see by the Word of God before we get trapped in that web. We must live by God's Word. We must listen only to His voice and follow Him in all that we do. ~ DickEvans.org

The Plan

Each one of us has been called by God to do the work He predestined us to do. He alone knows the plan. It is not a secret. He wants us to know what it is. Just as you and I don't go around telling our plans to people we do not have a relationship with, God doesn't either. He wants us to get to know Him, to have a close relationship with Him. Then we will be at that place where all of the plan can be revealed. ~ DickEvans.org

Keeping Score

God doesn't keep score so why should we? Are you at that place where you are remembering the things that others have done to you and in some ways holding it against them?
God has grace for us, so why can't we have grace for others? I believe it has to do with the fact that our feelings were hurt, our emotions stirred up. It's very hard to let go. it's very hard to forgive others like the Lord has forgiven us. He remembers our transgressions no more. They are as far from Him as the east is from the west.

We are forgiven. And yet we walk around wounded, suffering because of what other people have said or done, instead of walking in the freedom bought for us by Jesus Christ at the cross. All our debts have been paid. It is a known fact that if we don't take care of our unforgiveness issues with others it can affect us physically. So we need to forgive those who we feel have wronged us in some way and we need to forgive ourselves if we feel we have wronged somebody else. Sometimes this can take years. As a matter of fact there are many families that are separated by issues long forgotten. They only know that something happened in the past and instead of dealing with it they stay separated.

God wants us to show love to all and that includes our family members. Yes we should all get along, but that does not mean we all have to agree. We get along because we have the same God, the same Jesus in us and yet each of us has a different path that we are on. We may not be doing the same thing that somebody else does. Byt we are reaching towards the same goal, same end of the race, that time we spend for eternity with our Lord and Savior.

Thank you Jesus for loving me. Thank you for molding me into the person that I need to be. Thank you for showing me how to love others, how to show grace when they do something that doesn't fit with my ideas. Help me to show mercy. If they do something that rubs me wrong, help me to not feel hurt because of the words they say that drill down deep into my emotions. Help me to love them. Help me to walk in the spirit and see them as Jesus sees them. Thank you Lord for forgiving me. Help me to forgive others. Help me to stop keeping score. In Jesus name I pray, amen

Wrong Thinking

Our old time friends and family may still be able to get us to that point that we slip back into some old habits. Other things that happen in our day to day life may still cause us to sin. Some believers may notice the errors of our ways and remark that 'God is testing us'. But no, Christ does not lead us into sin. We do it all on our own by allowing wrong thinking to cloud our judgment. ~ DickEvans.org

Correction

The question is not about what God thinks of us. He knows us and He knows our heart. He knows we are still in this human shell dealing with our old nature daily. No, the question is how we react when another brother or sister in Christ points out our shortcoming. If we are pointing out something to another believer, it must not be with pointing fingers. It is with love that we correct others. For the reason to correct is simply to be a signpost showing them the way to turn. ~ DickEvans.org

Rescued

God sent His only Son to this world to rescue us. Jesus came to show us a better way, a way of being free from the grip of satan and his evil ways. It is up to each and every one of us to remember that and tell others what He has done for us. Tell others how He rescued you. ~ DickEvans.org

Spend Time

God is waiting for us to seek His face. He wants to tell us what His plans are. But first we must get to know who He is and the only way to do that is to spend time with Him. Spend time in His Word, spend time in prayer, and spend time listening. Without some quiet time where we shut out the sounds of the day, how can we expect to hear His voice? ~ DickEvans.org
