Proclaim It

Isn’t it time to do as Jesus commissioned us? Let’s proclaim the good news that He saves, heals and delivers. And let us proclaim His glorious deeds among the nations. Let’s tell everyone about the amazing things He does. ~ DickEvans.org

Qualified

God takes us right where we are. We all have the same call; the call to reach the lost and share the Gospel. It is the cross of Christ alone that saves. As we walk out in that call, no matter how new we are to our walk, He qualifies us for the task at hand. As we yield to that inner voice we begin to go and grow. Responsible

We must consciously reject that which we know to be unacceptable to the Holy Spirit. We are all at a different place in our walk, yet we each are responsible only for our own actions. ~ DickEvans.org

Spirit Language

Each day we are pulled this way and that. I pray in my spirit language a lot and that helps me in ways even I do not understand. Our spirit man gets to dialog directly with God the Father. In the background, changes are occurring that make us more and more Christ-like. ~ DickEvans.org

He Imputes Righteousness

Romans 4:6
just as David also describes the blessedness of the man to whom God imputes righteousness apart from works:

The dictionary defines the word impute as: ascribe (righteousness, guilt, etc.) to someone by virtue of a similar quality in another. “Christ's righteousness has been imputed to us"

Because of Jesus’ finished work, God does not impute sin to us. What He does impute to us is righteousness apart from works.

Proverbs 10:6
Blessings are on the head of the righteous, But violence covers the mouth of the wicked.

And because you are righteous, get ready for His blessings!

Obey

As believers, we have the Holy Spirit within. As our relationship with Him builds, the communication between Him and us increases. Then that still small voice is much more than built-in programming, it is God Himself directing our every step – if only we would listen and obey. ~ DickEvans.org

Heathen Lifestyle

We must be careful who and what we allow to influence us. Because someone goes to church on Sunday does not make them a person that is walking on the right side of the street every day. There are many that call themselves Christian that are leading a heathen lifestyle. ~ DickEvans.org

New Man

When we run across someone who knew us long ago, and we do from time to time, they are amazed at the change in us. They meet us expecting the same old person, but that old man is dead. A new man has arisen to take his place. ~ DickEvans.org

Purpose

My purpose in life is being worked out in me as I go on from day to day. The central purpose is easy. It is the commission He has given us all; to share the gospel in all the earth but how I am called to do that seems to evolve as the years move on. It is a never-ending story that is being written and rewritten daily ~ DickEvans.org

In His Power

Ephesians 6:10 does not say to be strong because of His power. It says to be strong with His power that is within. Jesus said we would do greater things than He had done and that happens when we are strong with His power. ~ DickEvans.org

Represent Christ

As Christians, we are being observed in all we do. Others judge Christianity on our behavior. We represent Christ to them. We must be careful to always represent Him in our words and in our actions. ~ DickEvans.org

Blameless

When we trust in Jesus our sins are taken away as far as the east is from the west. No matter how bad our sins have been, no matter what family or race or country we come from. It does not matter. Each of us comes from sin and each starts our Christian walk blameless in His sight. ~ DickEvans.org

A Good Person

John‬ ‭3:2-3‬ ‭NKJV‬‬
This man came to Jesus by night and said to Him, "Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from God; for no one can do these signs that You do unless God is with him." Jesus answered and said to him, "Most assuredly, I say to you, unless one is born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."

Being born again does not equal being good. And being good does not make you born again.

We accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior and follow Him forever. Our spirit is transported instantly heavenward and merged with the spirit of Christ and then sent back to us. Our spirit and Holy Spirit are one; a unique combination. We are saved.

This is the first salvation. The kingdom of God is within. Heaven is here on earth.

To this world we are aliens. Our old man is dead. We are no longer who we were and the enemy works hard to keep our thinking back where it was before our salvation.

Who are we to believe, our old thoughts or the word of God in our spirit? As a new person in Christ, we must stop walking in the flesh and walk in the spirit.

In the spirit, we are pure goodness. In the flesh, we are on a transformation walk to be gooder and gooder.

Just because we are saved does not mean we walk out in pure goodness. The enemy consistently finds ways to bring our thinking back to who we were and that may not have been all good.

Just because we see goodness in someone else does not mean they are saved. Their upbringing may have been good. They may have had godly examples in their life. Reach out to them and tell them your story. The story of Jesus.

Let's listen to that voice inside. Let's listen to Holy Spirit guiding us, teaching us. Let's walkout in who we are in Christ and not who we used to be in this earthly realm.

Treasure

How often are we so concerned with getting all this stuff that we even reduce our offering to God? How often are we guilty of carrying off our treasure to pagan temples? ~ DickEvans.org

Walk the Talk

What the Apostle Paul taught, what he said, and how he lived were all examples to live by. I believe this is where God wants to see us. Is how we live an example of Christ in the world in which we live? Do we live the life we talk? ~ DickEvans.org

His Nature

Christ is in us and as we walk forth how we come across to others reflects Christ to them. We can be pretty the outside with makeup and clothes and hairstyle, but the inside displays the level of our conversion. With His nature, we will be known for the beauty that comes from within. ~ DickEvans.org

Let Holy Spirit Lead

It is time to stop letting the enemy mislead us by telling us it is alright to ignore those things that will stretch us. It is time to turn things over to God; to let Holy Spirit lead us down the right path and through the obstacles. ~DickEvans.org

God's Standard

We should look beyond human rules all the time. God’s standard is what we need to live by. It is His character we want to emulate, not societies. We need to turn to the Holy Spirit for direction in all that we do. ~ DickEvans.org

Prayer

When I became born again; born of the Spirit, I began to understand that prayer was not saying a memorized bunch of words over and over again. No, it was about having a relationship with Him; about speaking to Him. It was about staying alert to His voice and being thankful to Him for all that happens each day. ~ DickEvans.org

Abides In Us

1 John‬ ‭4:15‬ ‭NKJV‬‬ 
Whoever confesses that Jesus is the Son of God, God abides in him, and he in God.

I find it interesting when I hear the complex prayers people devise to get someone saved. And then they have a second event to have them receive the Holy Spirit.

1 John 4:4 (KJV)
Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

1 John is pretty clear. Whoever confesses... God is in them.

Holy Spirit, the third person of the trinity lives in us the moment we confess our belief. There is no other step to take. There are no classes to attend or special prayers to recite. God abides in us. And God is the Father, the son, and the Holy Spirit.

And our spirit and Holy Spirit are one unique spirit. It is the same Holy Spirit in each believer but the combination is unique to each believer.

Our spirit does not have to be trained for the Holy Spirit knows all things and was sent to teach us and to work through us to touch others.

Galatians 5:16
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh

Our soul and our carnal mind needs the teaching. As we trust our unique spirit to lead us more and more we stop depending on the carnal mind to have all the answers. We let our spirit take the lead.

Believe it!

Do Our Part

Our task is to reach the lost and present the Gospel message to them. We are waiting for the Lord and He is waiting for us. Let’s do our part today. ~ DickEvans.org

Allow Him

Born again believers have been given authority and power. Jesus said we would do even greater things than He had done. That does not come from knowing how to speak so that others follow. The power comes as we step out and obey the Holy Spirit; allowing Him to work through us. ~ DickEvans.org

One Truth

There is only one truth and Holy Spirit leads us right to it. Jesus tells us “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” If the words we hear are not lining up with His words, with the Word of God, then we must close our ears and move on. ~ DickEvans.org

Joy

Real joy can only come from the Lord. Anything else is but a temporary fix dreamed up with human thought. As our relationship with Him builds, so builds our joy. ~ DickEvans.org

Let His Words Come Forth

Holy Spirit wants to fill our mouth with spiritual truths; He wants us to speak the words He gives us. We must learn to put aside our words of human wisdom. We must let His words come forth. ~ DickEvans.org

God Is With Us

God is with us. We are never alone. He tells us that many in the city are His; many are ready to receive the message we have to give. All it takes is for us to open our mouths and they will follow. ~ DickEvans.org

Turn Over Control

We need to turn control over to the Holy Spirit. It is up to us to allow Him to work in our day to day lives. The more often we do that, the quicker our character changes can take place; the quicker others will see the mind of Christ evident in our lives. ~ DickEvans.org

Test Yourself

2 Corinthians 13:5 NKJV

Examine yourselves as to whether you are in the faith. Test yourselves. Do you not know yourselves, that Jesus Christ is in you?—unless indeed you are disqualified.

The test is about us knowing that we know that we are in Christ and he is in us. 

The disqualified are the ones who have not accepted Jesus. They do not have Holy Spirit in them. 

The question is not about what we are doing in the natural. It is about if we are walking in the flesh or in the spirit.

Open Hearts

As believers, we are to go into the world and preach the gospel but not everyone we tell believes. Not everyone we tell is able to hear the truth. But if God has opened their hearts, they are ready to receive His word; they are appointed to eternal life. ~ DickEvans.org

Treasures

The key to all the treasures is the Holy Spirit and all we need to do is listen. As our relationship with Him matures, He unfolds more and more wisdom and knowledge to us. We must not be anxious for it will come in His time. ~ DickEvans.org

Let Him Drive

Holy Spirit lives in each believer. If we maintain our old level of control by staying in the driver’s seat, we are liable to fall short but if we let Him do the driving, we cannot sin because He does not sin. Isn’t it time to put Him in charge? ~ DickEvans.org

The Last Lamb

For centuries man had sacrificed animals to God in the hope that their sins would be forgiven. Jesus became the final sacrifice. No longer would mankind have to sacrifice lambs for forgiveness. His blood secured our salvation forever. ~ DickEvans.org

Fix It

God created it all, why can’t He fix what we want Him to fix right now? But with God, there is no beginning or end. There is no time as we know it here on earth. He fulfills all of His promises and in His time he will honor us. ~ DickEvans.org

Not Under Law

We must not let any "new" law -- made by man, perhaps even a well-meaning Christian in leadership or rules made by the church -- get in the way of who we are in Christ. We are NOT under the law unless we let ourselves become under law! ~ DickEvans.org
