Darkness

When Jesus is speaking of darkness, He is speaking about the stumbling we go through on our journey through this life on earth. He knows the destination we are seeking. Only He can guide us along the way. Try as we might to use our education, logic and worldly experience, we are unable to find our way by ourselves. Jesus is our guiding light. ~ DickEvans.org

Copy

God does not want us to be an exact copy of anything this world has to offer. He wants each of us to be the unique person He designed us to be. By copying the behavior and customs of this world, we take on attributes of the father of this world instead our Father God. It is only by allowing ourselves to be transforming into His image that we will become the unique children made to serve and please Him. ~ DickEvans.org

The Project Manager

God created His plan for each of our lives before He formed the earth. He is the ultimate project manager. He is keeping track of all. He never makes a mistake. His timing is perfect with all the necessary components arriving at the right time. It is not for us to manage, but for us to trust in Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Undivided Attention

God wants our undivided attention. He wants us to look to Him as the first and final point of reference in all that we do. When our focus is on Him everything else falls into its proper place. ~ DickEvans.org

Perfection is a Process

Romans 12:2
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect

Perfection of our soul is the result of a process. We can’t do it alone. Matter of fact we can’t do anything on our own.

We are born again and perfect in the spirit and then spend the rest of our life here on earth walking out the transformation of our mind to be one with the mind of Christ.

Philippians 2:12-13
Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.

We walk out the salvation of our soul in fear and trembling. Our spirit is already saved but our life here is still listening to old thoughts.

Romans 12:2
And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.

We must renew our mind to the mind of Christ so our thoughts align with His so nothing can bring us back to who we were before Christ.

We are changed through our relationship with Jesus. As we allow Holy Spirit to teach us all things as we immerse our selves in God’s word our mind become renewed and we see and act with the mind of Christ.

In the spirit we are perfect but our soul has a lot of catching up to do and that process is called transformation.

Watchmen

As believers, we are brothers and sisters; all children of God. We find it easy to speak to our natural siblings to warn them of sin in their life; to warn and even offer a helping hand or an ear to listen. Shouldn't we do the same with our church family? We are watchmen on the wall for others in the body of Christ. ~ DickEvans.org

God Loves Us

God loves us even when we are under control of our sinful nature, being controlled by the father of this world and not by our Father God. As believers we have been born again; we have been given His nature. Isn't it time we let our new nature control us? ~ DickEvans.org

Watch Ourselves

When we realize we have sinned against another we need to go to them to be certain we have not offended them in some way and ask them for forgiveness. Whatever we do to another believer, we also do to He who lives in them. We must watch ourselves in all that we do and say. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Driven By God

Just because something makes us feel good does not mean it is from God. The enemy deceives us to make us take our focus off of God. We need to see these things for what they are and stay focused on God and what He has for us to do. We should desire to be driven by Him. ~ DickEvans.org

God loves all

God loves all His children and wants all to believe His message and follow His son. He wants all of us to make it to the lifeboat. But many believe the message of the world instead. All may appear rosy, yet those who don't listen, those who do not believe in the one the Father sent, those who do not follow Jesus will be destroyed. ~ DickEvans.org

A good day to die

The only way we will truly be the living testimony that spreads that good news is if we allow our old nature to die. It is then that Christ's nature can take over so that death can produce many new lives. Today is a good day to die; a good day to die to that old nature. ~ DickEvans.org

Take Time

God wants a relationship with us so that through it we can become the person He has called us to be. May each of us take time throughout our day to spend time with Him in prayer, talk to Him, read His word, or just think about the things all around us given by Him. ~ DickEvans.org

He expects all of us

Jesus is not looking for a give to get attitude. No, He expects all of us, all the time. There is no room for 'self' in a relationship with Him. We must put aside all thoughts of us and follow Him each and every day. ~ DickEvans.org

Are You Willing

John 6:29 NLT
Jesus told them, “This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent.

We have all been programmed through our life experiences. We like what we like and shy away from the unfamiliar. We like to stay in our comfort zone.

It takes a lot to move us from that place of security. Years ago mankind was convinced the earth was flat and if you sailed to the horizon you would fall off.

I am sure this was taught in their schools and believed by their scholars. It was not true but their teaching made it true to them. We believe a certain way because of our past programming.

As man experienced that you didn’t fall off but kept going because the earth was a globe, reprogramming occurred.

Consider the Jews. They believed a messiah was coming and had been programmed as to what he would look like and what he would do for them. They did not expect Jesus as a man like them growing up with them and therefore did not see Him as the messiah. They still deal with that wrong programming. God placed a veil over their eyes.

What about our programming from past religious experiences? Are we willing to be reprogrammed? Are we willing to walk away from all we believed and walk in the truth?

We are saved by grace and are no longer under the bondage of the past. Satan has no hold on us. He who is in us is greater than he who is in the world.

An yet many think they have to work hard to stay on the right side of God. That grace has a price to pay by our good works. But Jesus told the disciples that the only work was to believe.

Father God, I am willing. Help me to allow Holy Spirit to guide me through a transformation of my thinking, a reprogramming of past religious thinking into the freedom you have given me. In Jesus name.

Grow

As we grow in Christ, we become more like Him. But to grow we must spend time with Him. It is through those daily experiences that we take on His nature; through the experiences as we walk this walk through life with Him. The imperfections on the inside are gradually replaced with more and more of Him. Only He can change the inside. ~ DickEvans.org

God's Armor

There is an enemy out there ready to come against us, an enemy that is sneaky, manipulative, and inviting. Daily we must go into the world dressed for battle with every piece of God's armor in place. We must get dressed for the season. ~ DickEvans.org

Transformation

When we accepted Christ into our life, we became a new person. We were given the mind of Christ even though we might not act like it right away. There is a transformation period that begins the instant we become a believer until we go on to be with God in eternity. If we let Him in each day by reading His word and by building our relationship with Him, He changes the way we think. The more we begin to think as He thinks, the more we come to know His perfect will. ~ DickEvans.org

Stuff happens

Stuff happens to each of us. The difference as believers is in how we handle it. Love makes the difference. We are called to follow Jesus in all that we do and He did not retaliate. He did not get even. He turned it all over to God and moved on. ~ DickEvans.org

Obey

First we must believe in Jesus. Then we must obey all that He tells us. That was all, not some of it. And we hear Him in His Word as we read each day. We hear Him in the nudging we get from Holy Spirit. And we hear Him in answer to prayer. As we ask Him, He answers, but then we must obey. ~ DickEvans.org

Temptation

Anytime we move off that straight and narrow path, we slip onto the unpaved roads of life filled with temptation to sin. We might be well within our society's rules and laws, but not walking the path God has for us and that is sin. It is time that we stop letting temptation lead us; time to stop being a slave to sin. ~ DickEvans.org

Nothing is Impossible

Philippians 4:13 NKJV
I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.

You gain confidence through knowing that Holy Spirit is with you—that you face nothing alone. Anxiety stems from asking the wrong question: “If such and such happens, can I handle it?”

The true question is not whether you can cope with whatever happens, but whether you and Holy Spirit together can handle anything that occurs.

It is this knowledge that he who is in you together with you that gives you confidence to face the day cheerfully.

He who spoke the universe into existence is with you; is in you. There is nothing too big for out God. There is nothing too messed up for Him.

No matter where you find yourself, Holy Spirit is with you pointing to the way out; the way to the perfect path of peace.

Love overcomes all adversity. Look to the light even when you find yourself in darkness. Then be the light that pushes back the darkness letting the love of the Lord shine bright.

Bondservant

We are to be slaves to Christ and to nothing else. We are called to be His bondservant which is another word for slave or servant. We are to serve Him and serve others for Him. He told us to treat even the least of men no differently than we would treat Him. As His followers, we are to be a servant to all. ~ DickEvana.org

Put God First

If we put God first in all that we do, we will have what we need in this life. We can have just as much as all those others but we will have it without it having a hold on us. Things are things and God is God. When things become more important, the only person we are really impressing is ourselves. ~ DickEvans.org

His Plan

God's word and His principles are used day in and day out by many calling themselves Christians. He has a plan for each and every one of us and that plan is for His purposes, not for ours. As we do that, there is no need for us to go forward with our hand out. As we step out in His plan, He takes care of us. ~ DickEvans.org

The Law

No longer do we have to fulfill the law to receive our salvation. It is not that we don't live up to the same laws as best we can. It is that obeying the letter of the law is not a requirement for salvation. ~ DickEvans.org

We See

When our hearts are filled with the light of Jesus, with the presence of God, we understand things that were never clear before. We see with new eyes and hear with new ears. ~ DickEvans.org

Stop Relying On Self

Our heavenly Father looks at our choices and must shake His head frequently. We need to stop relying on ourselves instead of asking for the Holy Spirit's help. ~ DickEvans.org

God Is Our Father

When we received Christ as our Lord and Savior, we became born again. We are God's children because we believed; we stretched out in faith and accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior. He is our Father and all of His children are our brothers and sisters; all part of one big family for eternity. ~ DickEvans.org

Not Just Sunday

We have become Christians, followers of Christ. We have taken a stand against the wrong in this world. Yet we continue to do the things we always did, enjoying the world as we enjoyed it before. God wants it all, not just Sunday mornings. ~ DickEvans.org

Freedom

John 8:36 GNB
If the Son sets you free, then you will be really free.

We can’t live in the past, no matter how strong it pulls. We have to move forward.

The enemy would love to have us dwell in our past. He tries hard to pull us back to old friends, to old habits.

Thank you Holy Spirit for reminding us that you are there. Reminding us who we are in Christ.

The true gospel declares that wherever the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Let’s stay in that holy place and not try to do both. Let’s walk not in the flesh with our old friends and habits. Let’s walk into the future in freedom.

God’s will is for us to experience the freedom of heaven here and now.

Freedom is what we have—Christ has set us free! Stand, then, as free people, and do not allow yourselves to become slaves again.

Gods Plan

God wants to use us. He has a plan that has been waiting for us to fulfill since the beginning of time. As we walk forth in who we are becoming in Christ, we walk as His ambassadors fulfilling that plan. When we go forth in faith, He is ready and will use us mightily. ~ DickEvans.org

Share

Whatever we do to the least of the body of Christ we do to Him.Together, by sharing our troubles and problems we can be a support for each other and be the one that is able to seek God and point them to the solution. Don't keep your problems to yourself, share them. ~ DickEvans.org

We Are His Bride

Jesus is coming back soon, but we don't know the day or the hour. The only preparation He left for us is to prepare the bride; to add as many as possible to the wedding list, but not as spectators. No, each of us is an integral part of the body of Christ and together we are His bride. ~ DickEvans.org

Stay Focused

If we stay focused on God and let Holy Spirit guide us in all that we do, the enemy can't catch us off guard and careless. If we drift off, God’s voice will bring us right back on track. But the key is that we must be always listening for Him. We must be very aware of His presence in our lives. ~ DickEvans.com

Changed

Many of us have received Jesus as our Lord and Savior. We changed in that instant from the inside out. We became filled with the Holy Spirit but if we did not change our lifestyle, no one would ever know. Others meet Christ through our changed lives.
