Powerful

God is just as powerful today as He ever was and ever will be. As believers we too will see Holy Spirit perform through us amazing miracles and signs among the people. ~ DickEvans.org

Listen

I believe our Father in heaven wants the very best for us. When we became a believer, He sent the Holy Spirit to be our guide, our comforter. If only we would listen. ~ DickEvans.org

Delegates

As believers, all of us are God’s delegates. In the grocery store, at the ball field, in the hockey arena, in school cafeterias, wherever we go, we are His delegates. Tell someone your story today. ~ DickEvans.org

Knowledge

It is not about what we know; how much knowledge we have accumulated. It is about following Jesus and what we allow.

2 Timothy 2:15 AMPC
Study and be eager and do your utmost to present yourself to God approved (tested by trial), a workman who has no cause to be ashamed, correctly analyzing and accurately dividing [rightly handling and skillfully teaching] the Word of Truth.

Many will tell me that the workers (born again Christians) must learn the Bible and be ready in season and out to quote scripture in any situation. That we must listen to sermons, read books written by Christians, as well as faithfully reading our Bibles. Even reading multiple translations and digging into the original writings to glean the truth. Study to show yourself approved they say.

I believe they are missing the boat. Look at who Paul was writing to in this book. Timothy nor any of the men he was about to face had a Bible to read. It was not completed yet. Even if it had been written most could not have read it and there was no way to duplicate the pages without the printing press that would be invented over 1,600 years in the future. Sure, they had the Jewish torah if they happened to be Jews and had memorised it.

John 14:26 AMPC
But the Comforter (Counselor, Helper, Intercessor, Advocate, Strengthener, Standby), the Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My name [in My place, to represent Me and act on My behalf], He will teach you all things. And He will cause you to recall (will remind you of, bring to your remembrance) everything I have told you.

The "study" occurred as they stepped out led by Holy Spirit to do what the great commision had called them to do. They preached the Good News, saved the lost, and healed the sick! Did it always go as planned? I do not think so. They learned through the experiences they had as they went as Holy Spirit taught them all things.

I believe true knowledge does not come from what we glean from others as we hear their words. It comes as experiential knowledge gained as we go forth listening to Holy Spirit as He guides us into all truth, as we practice His presence and allow Him to come upon to do the work of Jesus.

Tell Someone

Spreading the Good News is simple. If we tell enough people, many will believe. Tell only a few and only a few will believe. God does not promise us that all will believe. He tells us to go and speak to everyone and that those that believe will receive everlasting life. ~ DickEvans.org

It is Time

God is seeking for us to have a relationship with Him; a relationship that only comes by faith. It is time for us to come out from under the law of the old covenant and listen to the guide He sent each and every believer, the Holy Spirit. Time to know who we are in Christ. ~ DickEvans.org

Open It

If we do not open our Bible, we cannot hear Him speak to us through it. When we open it we discover that It is a classroom that never ends. It is a never-ending library of revelation for us to partake of daily. ~ DickEvans.org

Our Walk

God has an exercise plan for us. We need to listen to Holy Spirit and obey His commands. As we do, as we step out in what He has for us today, we take one more step on our walk with Him. ~ DickEvans.org

His Will

The Anointing

1 John 2:27 AMP
As for you, the anointing [the special gift, the preparation] which you received from Him remains [permanently] in you, and you have no need for anyone to teach you. But just as His anointing teaches you [giving you insight through the presence of the Holy Spirit] about all things, and is true and is not a lie, and just as His anointing has taught you, you must remain in Him [being rooted in Him, knit to Him].

The anointing isn't something that we get because someone lays hands on us. It isn't something that we have a little of. The anointing is the presence of the Holy Spirit and the guarantee that we have been born again.

2 Corinthians 1:21-22 NKJV
Now He who establishes us with you in Christ and has anointed us is God, who also has sealed us and given us the Spirit in our hearts as a guarantee.

The Holy Spirit is in us and it is up to us to practice His presence and allow Him to work through us. This occurs as we walk in the Spirit and not in the flesh. As we read the word of God and then, in faith, do it.

Galatians 5:16
I say then: Walk in the Spirit, and you shall not fulfill the lust of the flesh.

The anointing doesn't fall from heaven. The anointing is with Him. Within us. We have Christ within. Therefore we have all of the anointing and as we allow Jesus to work through us it is the anointing that breaks the yoke.

It is the presence of Holy Spirit. As we allow Him to be free to work among Father God's people, they are set free. They are free to begin their walk with Him fully healed, fully delivered, fully filled with the Holy Spirit.

More to Learn

No matter how mature we think we are in the Spirit, there is always more for us to learn. As believers, Holy Spirit guides us each step of the way, but it is up to us to use what He gives us and put it into practice then we are ready to be given more. ~ DickEvans.org

Bond Servant

We were all born into this life a slave to satan. We can blame the first Adam for that one. But we had a choice and we took it. We believed the Good News. We were slaves to the spiritual powers of this world; now we are bond servants to Christ. ~ DickEvans.org

Use It

I believe God expects us to become mature Christians, not to stay in the mindset of new believers for our entire existence here on Earth. So let's get past the basics and use what we have learned. Let's take that revelation and use it to propel us in our walk as He intended. ~ DickEvans.org

Serving

When [Jesus] came to Simon Peter, Peter said to him, "Lord, why are you going to wash my feet?" (John 13:6 NLT) Jesus taught us all a lesson that day. If we are to follow Him, we must serve others. ~ DickEvans.org

Be There

Relationship

How many of us have a business relationship with God? We turn to Him when we have a need for Him. Most of the time, we take care of business without Him. I believe He wants a friendship relationship with us. ~ DickEvans.org

Don't Settle

John 6:29 NLT
Jesus told them, "This is the only work God wants from you: Believe in the one he has sent."

2,000 years ago Jesus went to the cross for us. Everyone makes mention of the fact that He died taking on all of our sins, past present and future. That he was buried and rose again on the third day making himself known to his disciples.

Somehow the fact that He also took upon himself all of the curses associated with the law which includes all sickness and disease seems overlooked. He totally paid our debt for all time. He fulfilled the law and ushered in the age of grace.

I often hear messages preached about how we must please the Father by removing all sin from our lives. Those in the last age were taught those same things and they could not do it. Jesus went to the cross for forgiveness of sin forever for all humanity. The only requirement is to believe in Jesus.

We seem to have lost touch with what Jesus did when he went to the cross. We don't depend on him for the healing He's already given us. We don't depend on Him for forgiveness and think we have to keep asking.

We are free from sin, sickness and death. As born-again believers we are loved unconditionally by the father and seen by him only through his son Jesus. The word tells us he sees our sin no more. And yet preachers tell us that in order to please God we have to stop sinning.

When we became born-again we received Holy Spirit and we no longer have this desire to sin. Try as much as we can to avoid sin we find ourselves falling into traps as our memories of past events are triggered daily.

We are tempted to go back to those old stomping grounds and get back those good feelings we had when we did this or that. Yet when we do, when we put ourselves in sins way, it doesn't feel the same. We are not that person anymore.

We are no longer sinners. We are born again believers walking in the spirit because of who is in us. As we allow him to guide us we are steered away from the temptations of life. But as we lose sight of the path, God does not punish us. In fact he does not even see it.

Does this mean that we can get away with anything because we are born again? No, there are consequences to our actions that we face here on earth. But this does not shake our promise of heaven and eternity with God.

It's time to know who we are in Christ. It's time to walk leaning on Holy Spirit and not our past lives. It's time to believe in He who the Father sent. It's time to walk in the healing and deliverance Jesus died on the cross for us to have.

We need to stop settling for what the world tells us. The only work the Father wants of us is to believe in Jesus. We need to lean on Holy Spirit and not others advice, doctors, and pharmaceutical companies. Fact is, Jesus healed us at the cross. We need to learn to walk in it.

Trust Him

We cannot defeat this evil world for Christ Jesus has already defeated it. Too often we try to figure out what He is having us do and mark out our own way to get there. But He has the plan. We just have to trust Him to open up the doors for us to fulfill it. ~ DickEvans.org

Make Time

We have to make a conscience decision to allow heaven to fill our thoughts, to practice His presence. We make time to watch football. We also have to make time to be with at one with Holy Spirit. It is a matter of life and death. ~ DickEvans.org

Eternity

The Good News is about the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. There is no other. It is in our belief in those three facts that set us apart as believers. We believe what God's Word says, that the only way to eternity with Him is through His Son, Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Treasures are not only in the form of money. The very gifts that God has created us with are more valuable than silver and gold. Our creativity comes straight from Him, for He is the great creator and we are made in His image. ~ DickEvans.org

Joy of the Lord

Nehemiah 8:10 NKJV
Then he said to them, "Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength."

May you be filled to overflowing with His joy and peace and holy laughter. Soak Him in and as you open your mouth, His joy will spill over onto all you come in contact with. For your are a conduit that delivers the love of the Father to the world around you.

May we look to Jesus and not to past sorrow ever joyful for the happy times of yesterday and looking forward to the joy today and tomorrow as we let Him guide our steps.

Thank you Jesus for this day.

Respond

Many of us want to hear God clearly and more often. It might be better not to get the message than to get it and not obey it. We expect Him to respond immediately to our prayer. Perhaps He expects us to respond immediately to His response. ~ DickEvans.org

Obey

We can be hearing directly from God as He reveals himself to us. But as good as all the information is, if we don't act on it, if we don't obey God's word to us, it does nothing to propel us forward. ~ DickEvans.org

Relationship

Many know God, but how many worship Him and give Him thanks for all the blessing He gives us? It is more than knowing; it is a relationship that He seeks with us. God does not become what we think He is supposed to be like. He is who He is and it is up to us to get closer to Him to not only understand His nature, but to grow up in Him and take on that very nature. ~ DickEvans.org
