Offences

Others offend us. This happens again and again. But we can't stay away from everyone who does. This is not what God wants of us. Remember, the Lord forgave us, so we are to forgive others. ~ DickEvans.org

God Knows

God knows the truth. He knows what lurks behind the scenes. And He is ready and willing to change us. He is willing to deliver us from our earthly past, our dark side. With Him we can conquer our evil thoughts and desires. ~ DickEvans.org

God's Timing

Ecclesiastes 3:1  

To everything there is a season, A time for every purpose under heaven:

It is about God's timing. He has set aside the right time for everything. This is what we may think this scripture might mean. We hear this often as people wait for the manifestation of a request made to God. It is like God has a things to do list and when He gets around to it, it will happen.  

I hear people say there are three answers to prayer, yes, no, and in his timing.  

I can't seem to find any evidence of that training in my Bible, in the life of Jesus. They came to Him and He took care of their needs. He did not say the timing is not right. I will get to you later. Go and suffer some more.  

He did tell some that the time was not right to minister to the gentiles. He was there for the Jews. Yet in each case He did minister to them anyway. The timing was now.  

At Calvary Jesus said "It is finished." He hung on that cross so all could be free. Because of that all mankind can experience salvation. All can experience healing, prosperity, and the unmerited favor of God. All have the unconditional love of Father God.  

We don't walk around waiting for God's favor. We have it now; if we believe in our heart. It is not God's timing it is ours. When are we going to receive what is already true? When are we going to walk in the truth of the gospel? 

Satan is a liar and a thief. He will attempt to fill our minds with things to divide us from the truth of the gospel. He will tell us about how sick we are. He will put doubt in our mind for us to dwell on. He will work hard even through well meaning friends to divide us from the truth of the gospel.  

Just believe in God's word, in His grace and receive all Jesus made available at Calvary.

Inheritance

We don't have to split up our inheritance from God with anyone. We each get it all. He is the light and as believers we are in Him and He is in us. The inheritance is waiting for each of us to partake of. All we need is to believe and walk forward as He leads. ~ DickEvans.org

Listen

When we are in conversation with someone, we need to listen to their story. There is always an opening; we just have to listen for it. Then we can do what God called us all to do by reaching out with the Good News. ~ DickEvans.org

Changed

We need to ask God to help us change; only He can do it. As our relationship with Him progresses we find that some of those things that we had to think about and choose just are. We have changed because He has changed us. ~ DickEvans.org

Do Something

We each are called to do something. We each have been given gifts. But we are all to use our gifts together to assist each other in the big picture. We are to collaborate as we go forth in the walk God has for us. ~ DickEvans.org

Know Him

We need to live to honor and please God. We need to love all of His children doing good and kind things for them. And as we do those things, walking the path He has laid out for us, we get to know Him better. ~ DickEvans.org

Time with God

Prayer is time with God. It is that time we spend fellowshipping with Him. It might be saying some memorized prayer. It could be speaking or singing in the spirit. It is telling Him how much we love Him, yet many times we only think of it as time we ask for something. ~ DickEvans.org

Repentance

Luke 13:5 NKJV
I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.

When I grew up in church this is one of those things programmed into me. Ask for forgiveness of my sins and ask Jesus into my heart to save me. That was a once in a lifetime declaration.

For once I did that, once I believed who Jesus was and what he did for me, for all mankind, I was free. Not free to sin but free to receive his grace.

Grace to receive his mercy new every morning. Grace to know whatever I said and did I was still free from the grip of the enemy. And whenever the enemy grabs me tempting me back to come under his control with his lies and deception all I need to do is reach out and call on the name of Jesus.

The laws of the new covenant are written on my heart because he saved me. I am born again. I walk in the laws of the new covenant--liberty, faith, and love.

This verse in Luke is under the old covenant. Jesus had not gone yet. He was speaking to followers under the laws of the old covenant; under the Ten Commandments.

Under the new covenant repentance is us recognizing we have sinned and turning to Jesus; turning to who we are in Christ.

We do not have to work to create change. As Holy Spirit guides us our mind is renewed. It is changed to be more and more the mind of Christ. We know who we are, perfect in Him. The more we step out the more our mind is changed. For He abides in us and we abide in Him. We are to repent or turn away from who we used to be and walk in who we became when we became born again.

His Words

To use Christ's words to teach and counsel others, we have to be in His Word. We have to be reading our bibles and listening to others who are preaching from His Word. The more of Him that comes in, the more of Him that others will see in us. ~ DickEvans.org

Obedience

To live in obedience to Christ we must be listening to Him. To listen to Him we must be fellowshipping with Him. And to be in fellowship with Him we must have a relationship with Him. Then we can truly live in obedience to Him. ~ DickEvans.org

No Labels

It is time that we stopped putting a label on others and treated them with as much love as we do our Christian friends. This is how they will get to know Christ. This is how Christ in us will be able to come out and penetrate the darkness. This is how the lost will be saved. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Jesus

We are to be Jesus to the world around us. Staying in our comfortable group of other believers is not doing that. let's make the most of every opportunity our journey unfolds for us, opportunity to shine His light and preach His Word. And remember that He who is in us in stronger than he who is in the world. ~ DickEvans.org

Quiet Time

We need quiet time. Perhaps we should drive to work tomorrow with the radio turned off. Maybe we should leave the cell phone off and even avoid putting in that Christian CD.Let's tell God all about our plans and let Him have a chance to speak to us. Let's let Him fill our thoughts. ~ DickEvans.org

Seek Truth

We need to seek the truth for ourselves as. To do that we need to have a relationship with God. If we give Him the opportunity, He will take the veil off of our eyes and we will see what was hidden to us. We will see treasures beyond our wildest imaginations. ~ DickEvans.org

Take the Risk

Matthew 7:1-5 ESV 
Judge not, that you be not judged. For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. Why do you see the speck that is in your brother's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, 'Let me take the speck out of your eye,' when there is the log in your own eye? You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother's eye

A critical spirit holds many back. We get so focused on what others are doing or not doing we miss our own walk in the spirit.

We are to seek His presence not just participate in works for Him. It is in His presence that we find revelation, healing, and direction.

Are you doing life like Jesus or with Jesus? He wants us in relationship with Him, not just being a copycat.

The doors God has for us to enter do not always look inviting. It takes faith to push open the door. His glory awaits on the other side.

Take that risk and see the untold riches that await you.

Make Us Wise

We should be dead to our own self and alive in Christ. We need to pray for a complete understanding of what He wants to do in our life. We need to ask Him to make us wise with spiritual wisdom. ~ DickEvans.org

Transformation

Transformation occurs by letting Holy Spirit help us in our day-to-day choices. It occurs when we turn our lives over to Him. As soon as we decide that there are choices we make on our own and other choices that we want His help in, we get in trouble. ~ DickEvans.org

He Is With Us

In whatever life situation we find ourselves, we do not have to be alone. For Holy Spirit, the spirit of Christ is with us wanting to give us encouragement and wanting to impart strength. He asks us to preserver, to endure, to have patience in all things. ~ DickEvans.org

The Tongue

The tongue is mighty. Use it wisely. Words once spoken can never be taken back. So be sure that you speak truth and honesty. Never speak words to hurt or defile others. With your own mouth you vote on life and death every day. ~ DickEvans.org

Learn

Ask yourself this question each day. What am I doing today to learn something new, on purpose? What is God trying to show you to teach you or to point you inn a direction to learn? ~ DickEvans.org

Exposure

Are you exposing children to a lifestyle and a relationship that you would want them to grow up to be like? Life's experiences shape a child and it is up to us to help them have the most positive, rewarding series of experiences as we can possibly give them. It is our path they are most likely to follow. ~ DickEvans.org

Follow Me

Matthew 4:19 CEV
Jesus said to them, "Follow me! I will teach you how to bring in people instead of fish

Jesus said to follow Him, not copy Him. Are you doing life like Jesus or with Jesus? He wants us in relationships with Him not just to duplicate Him.

The doors God has for us to enter do not always look inviting. Takes faith to push open the door but His glory awaits on the other side.

We are to seek his presence not just participate in works for Him. It is in His presence that we find revelation, healing, and direction.

He didn't pay the price for us to have religion. He paid the price for us to have relationship with Him.

Overlook

We should overlook the faults in those we love. They are the things that make them unique. They are part of who they are. If they were not who they are would we love them? And if we try to change who they are, will they love us? ~ DickEvans.org

Content

Those who live content with the little they have are much better off than those that step over others taking what they want to be happy. We are to be content in any and every situation. (Philippians 4:11-13) ~ DickEvans.org

Sucess

Our ideas are mixed with inspiration and the perspiration of our years of experience. Our friend may not have had the idea originally, but when he hears it he can add the years of his experience to it creating something even better to move forward to success with. ~ DickEvans.org

Wisdom

The wise person seeks the wisdom of others before making a decision. They know that they are not to lean to their own understanding even with the wisdom gleaned from others. No, they seek the Father and make sure what they are deciding lines up with His advice. ~ DickEvans.org

Giving

Being generous is a simple principle. Give out of your love of others, not requiring a return at all. That is when it happens. Love is reflected in love. ~ DickEvans.org

No More Begging

Matthew 6:7-8 NASB
And when you are praying (seeking), do not use meaningless repetition (begging) as the Gentiles do, for they suppose that they will be heard for their many words. "So do not be like them; for your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. 

Are you praying for God to make something happen or are you thanking him for what he already did on the cross?

Are we reveling in the acts of the enemy or are we reveling in the freedom and the healing we already have received?

We are healed. (1 Peter 2:24) We choose to walk in that truth or do we choose to step back and beg God to perform.

See yourself and others as delivered, walking in the freedom Jesus died on the cross to give you. Stop asking God to put Jesus back on that cross by begging Him to do again what He already did. It was finished once and does not have to be repeated over and over.

We are free to walk in perfect health and wholeness. Stop slipping back into those old thought patterns. Follow the one who died to make you free and not what the enemy wants you to be. Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus. (1 Thessalonians 5:18) Walk in it!

Honesty

Those that live in untruths and lies eventually are found out. Their success is short lived. You may not always be popular, but you can never be wrong in honesty. ~ DickEvans.org
