We Are Not

Mark 16:18b
NIV [Believers] will place their hands on sick people, and they will get well.
KJV [Believers] shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover
ESV [Believers] will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.
NLT [Believers] will be able to place their hands on the sick, and they will be healed.

We are not all musicians, not all intercessors, not all pastors, not all preachers, not all missionaries but we are all called to lay hands on the sick and see them recover.

We are all called to know His word and know who we are in Christ. We are all called to set others free. We are all called to love God and to love our neighbors.

So why are so many satisfied to sit in churches hearing about what God did and what He is doing now? Our relationship with Him is more than sitting in a pew weekly. He told us to GO. He told us love others and that is not just the other pew sitters in our church. He commissioned us to reach other outside our sphere of influence. He told us to reach the world.

We are all called to practice His presence and let Him use our feet, hands and mouths as we let Him come upon us daily.

The Lord's Prayer tells is “as it is in heaven so it is on earth.” No sickness in heaven so why should there be sickness here?

So let’s believe what Jesus said and go lay hands on the sick just as He did. After all, Jesus is alive in us. Let Him touch others now as He did back then.

They Will Follow

But when we go out to do work God has destined us to do, He is with us. We are never alone. And He tells us that many in the city are His; many are ready to receive the message we have to give. All it takes is for us to open our mouths and they will follow. ~ DickEvans.org

Allow Holy Spirit

It is up to us to allow Holy Spirit to work in our day to day lives. The more often we do that, the quicker our character changes can take place; the quicker others will see the mind of Christ evident in our lives. ~ DickEvans.org

Treasures

All the treasures of wisdom and knowledge are in Christ. When we received Christ, we also received all the treasures.The key to that treasure chest is the Holy Spirit and all we need to do is listen. ~ DickEvans.org

Who is driving

When we were born into God’s family, when we asked Jesus into our heart, He came to live in us. Holy Spirit lives in each and every one of us who believe. Let Him do the driving. ~ DickEvans.org

Secure in Jesus

Jesus came and gave His life for us and became the final sacrifice. No longer would mankind have to sacrifice lambs for forgiveness. His blood secured our salvation forever and that was a once and forever event. ~ DickEvans.org

The Beggar

Ephesians 2:4-5 
But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ- by grace you have been saved.

Have you ever passed by a stranger begging for a handout on the side of the road and later wondered who he was? You wonder why he ended up where he is in this life. You think, "But for the grace of God that could be me." And yet that person is eligible for the same mercy and grace. God loves him just the same even no less nor more than He loves you.

Jesus went to the cross for all people for all time. He took the sins and curses and sicknesses of all. Not just for those that believed in Him. He took it for all of mankind--past, present, a future.

No one was born again yet. No one had the Holy Spirit. No one had a revelation of God's grace. The age of grace had not begun. They were still living under law.

Then came Pentecost where Holy Spirit was sent to live in every believer. As Jesus told us when he told His disciples the only work we would have is to believe on the one the Father had sent. We believe in Jesus. We are in Him and He is in us.

Galatians 2:20 
I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave himself for me.

Holy Spirit and our spirit are one. We live and breath in Him. As we allow Him to work through us, He manifests in authority and power to reach the lost. To heal the sick and remove bondages. To free all He comes in contact with.

All it takes is letting go of our fleshly desires and give God control. Trust Him with everything and He opens up the miraculous in your life. Know who you are in Christ. So the next time you see a beggar, stop and introduce him to He who is in you. Both of your lives will be forever changed.

We are Free

Jesus came to free us from the law. We are no longer under law but are under His Grace. Nothing has to stand in our way anymore and we have to be careful that we don’t let it. ~ DickEvans.org

They Recognize Us

Jesus told us to go and preach the gospel, to make disciples. He was speaking to you and me, to ordinary men and women. And because of the relationship we have with Him, others recognize us as men and women that have been with Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Missed It

Sometimes what we want to do for God is not what God has for us to do. We feel great about doing the work we do in His name, but we missed it. We were so busy working at what we wanted that we missed what He was trying to tell us. ~ DickEvans.org

Darkness

The presence of Holy Spirit in us can light up the darkest places exposing the evil deeds that are found there. However, it is up to us to invade that darkness; it will not come to us. ~ DickEvans.org

Relationship

We need quality time with God every day. As we press in to know Him, our relationship with Him grows. He is there for us whenever we call out to Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Encourage

We should develop relationships that last and are deep enough for us to allow others to not only encourage but to admonish us. We must be willing to meet with others in their times of great need so we can be there to hold up their arms when they need it most. ~ DickEvans.org

Change Me

We are a work in process. We look to the time when we have overcome our hurts and hangups.

Romans 12:3? KJV
God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

Yet by reaching out to Jesus with the measure of faith to follow Him we become one with Him.

1 John 4:13 NKJV
By this we know that we abide in Him, and He in us, because He has given us of His Spirit.

We become born again and Jesus abides in us and us in Him.

As we realize who we are in Christ, the hurts and hangups fall away. We know who we are and that we are no longer who we used to be. We now identify with Christ and not with our old self.

2 Corinthians 5:21 NKJV
For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.

We walk in the righteousness of Christ. He leads and we follow. One decision changes us completely.

Don't Worry

God says not to worry about tomorrow. He is not telling us to not think about the future. He is not saying that the future will just unfold itself like the pages of a book. He is telling us that no matter what our plans, not to worry about them. He is with us and with Him to guide us, nothing is impossible. ~ DickEvans.org

Watching Us

As followers of Jesus others are watching us; waiting for us to sin so they can point it out. Our sin can keep them from the Truth. They want to see the proof; the proof that we have really changed. ~ DickEvans.org

Temptations

Each day there will be temptations to sin, and we might fall into the traps. God forgives us each time for Jesus died for all our sins forevermore. But, woe to those of us that do the tempting. ~ DickEvans.org

Prayer

Prayer occurs when we reach out to God. He reminds us that prayer is not just rout words repeated day after day. No, it is communication with Him with an alert mind and a thankful heart. ~ DickEvans.org

Relationship

As believers, we are on a constant quest for a deeper relationship with God. We are only fooling ourselves if we believe that occurs in praise and worship alone. He wants all of us, all the time. He wants us honoring Him with our lips and our hearts.  ~ DickEvans.org

Return

God wants us to return to Him. (Zechariah 1:3) This is not the same as that item we bring back to the store. You see, it is not that kind of “return”. This return comes from the Greek word Shuwb which as used here means to is to turn back to God, to repent or to turn back from evil. ~ DickEvans.org

Simple Truth

2 Timothy 2:1
You then, my son, be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus.

Stop looking for something to do to please God. He is pleased! He loves you unconditionally. You have His Grace, His unmerited favor. And all you have to do is believe it and walk in it. Receive what Jesus did for you at the cross. Believe His last words--It is finished.

Holy Spirit came to live in us and through us. He is our source of comfort. He is our teacher. He is proof of our eternity.

You have probably heard that Holy Spirit convicts us of our sins. And yet we believe there is no condemnation in Christ. Holy Spirit is not a condemner. The enemy is.

Why do we still fall for the condemner and believe his lies? Satan is a liar and a thief. We know that and yet we still fall for his lies!

Thank you Father for your promise of never leaving us or forsaking us. Thank you for Your unmerited favor, Your Grace, in our lives.

Share

Jesus wants us to spread the word among all that we come in contact with. He wants us to share our experiences with them; to tell our story of how we got to know Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Communication

Communication with God all day long will keep us alert and keep us in that attitude of prayer. ~ DickEvans.org

Serve

As we serve others we are serving God. As others observe how we work, they are observing what kind of a person we really are. We are a model of Christianity to them. ~ DickEvans.org

Apply

As we apply the truths that God has revealed to us, we grow and as we grow He reveals more truths. As we use what has been given, even more will be given and we will have an abundance. ~ DickEvans.org

Understand

As we act on that generous nature in us because of our new birth, we come to an understanding of all the good things He can do through us. ~ DickEvans.org

Actions

We can preach to others about right and wrong. We can talk about how we are to live our lives according to the Word of God. However, our actions speak louder than our words. ~ DickEvans.org

Do It

James 1:22 NIV
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

When we were learning to drive a car it did not matter how many hours we spent in the driver education classes. We had to get behind the wheel and actually do it. We had to drive the car for real on the road.

No matter how much we study God's word, no matter how much we think we know, it useless unless we do something with it.

The Bible is our how to book for life as a Christian here on earth--basic instructions before leaving earth. Some believers spend hours studying it. They go to Bible studies, read commentaries describing what they read, and listen to sermons to know more. They work hard to increase the knowledge they have about God's word.

But increased knowledge does not grow us in our relationship with God. We grow as we do. When we live to act upon what He tells us as we read His word we grow. We grow in Him through experiencing Him in our day to day life here on earth.

Father God, help me to step out and do what your word tells me to do. In Jesus name.
