Ttransgressions

Just because we are saved does not mean that we are free from sin or free to sin. Our sin has been forgiven. The slate was wiped clean when we gave our lives over to Him, when Jesus died for us on the Cross. As the Holy Spirit opens our understanding about those transgressions we fall into, we are to listen and repent. We are to change our ways as we discover our error. The Source

The best source for all we need is God’s Word. We should be eating it up every day, pouring through its pages as He leads us. He will show us what we need to know to walk the walk He has destined us to walk. ~ DickEvans.org

More

Growing up we learn that more is good; that the more you make the more you have. Now that I am older in life and in my walk with God, I realize that having more income does not mean having more. If what we do with out income it is simply to satisfy our own desires, those desires born out of the latest marketing campaign or by a need to do better than our friends and neighbors, we will always have less then we need. We will always be pushing for more. We will always be in debt. We are to take what God provides for us and use it wisely; it will enhance our lives and the lives of others. ~ DickEvans.org

Wisdom of Experience

We are all experts on some things and ignorant of others. In most of our endeavors, someone else has gone down that path before us. We must open ourselves up to their wisdom of experience as God places them in our path. Above all, we must listen to the Holy Spirit. He will guide us to those that can speak into our lives giving us the encouragement to press on. ~ DickEvans.org

Acceptance

Romans 15:7 NLT
Therefore, accept each other just as Christ has accepted you so that God will be given glory.

It is a good thing there was no background check when I decided to accept God's gift of salvation.

Think about it. When we go for a job interview we have to prove we are qualified before we even get our foot in the door. Then there are tests to take and interviews. Even after we are hired there sometimes is a trial period where they can let us go without recourse.

Imagine having to do that to get into the Kingdom of God. Under the old covenant that is exactly what happened. That was the age of law. Obey them all and you might get in. Miss one and you started over.

Under the new covenant we are in the age of grace. There are no background checks or interviews. We simply say from our heart "Yes Lord. I believe."

He accepts us right where we are at in our life, no matter what our past has been like. He gives us forgiveness from all sin, freedom from our past, and a guarantee of our future. And His Grace covers us forever.

Thank you, Jesus for all you did for me at the cross. Thank you for my freedom.

Prosperity

Prosperity does not always mean finances. We prosper as our soul prospers. As we prosper, He will fill us with riches in many ways; He will fill us with wisdom, understanding, and more. So let us start right now with God and allow Him to direct our steps away from idleness. ~ DickEvans.org

Perfection

God wants us to look to Him first. When we let Him be in control and go before us each day, we walk in His perfection. We can never reach perfection no matter how much we try. Only through our dependence on Him can we walk in it. ~ DickEvans.org

The Messenger

God looks to the heart. As we reach out to Him, He fills us with more of His nature and as we go about our daily lives, He gives us a message for those that we meet. No matter what our success level in society, we become His messengers. ~ DickEvans.org

Courageous

We should always stand firm in what the Lord has for us to do, true to what we believe. We are to be courageous. This does not mean to pretend to be Superman and leap tall buildings or bend steal. I believe it speaks to the fact that He can have us do things that seem beyond our human capacity; He removes our human limitations. He wants us to step out and speak up. However, in all we do, He wants it done with love. ~ DickEvans.org

Spread the Message

We are to spread the message everywhere we go. Some will hear and heed the message. Some will ignore it. Others may even strike out at the messenger. None of that matters. All that matters is that we obey the command to take the gospel message, a message of repentance to all the nations. ~ DickEvans.org

The Good News

Jesus gave each of us the commission to spread the Good News everywhere we travel. As we tell others the story of how our relationship with Him has changed our lives, and how there is forgiveness of sins for all who turn to Him, we are doing the work He gave us all to do. ~ DickEvans.org

Give Grace

Ephesians 2:8-9 NKJV
For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, not of works, lest anyone should boast. 

As we have received the gift of grace we must also give grace to others and forgive them when they say or do something that could offend us.

Offense nurtured breeds bitterness. Bitterness will kill you. It is a cancer to your soul. With bitterness comes anger. It is not part of our new life in Christ.

God has saved us by grace not by works. We are forgiven. His word tells us that He remembers our sins no more.  They are as far away from Him as the east is from the west.

We need to be walking in the spirit not in the flesh. In the spirit we think with the mind of Christ.

As we allow our mind to draw from our old self we pull away from the mind of Christ. We let others offend us and pull us out of the spirit.

Satan works hard to tempt us into those old thoughts. Tempt us to go back to those things our old self enjoyed. Tempt us back into old relationships.

That life is over. We cannot go back. Our New life is in Christ. He has a path for us to go on. We need to let go of the dead past life and walk in our new life. Let go of those old friends. Stop the lifestyle we lived before Christ.

Father, thank you for showing me the path you have for Me to follow. Thank you for steering me away from the ways of my dead life. Thank you for wisdom and boldness to speak the truth to others. To use me to heal the sick. In Jesus name I pray. Amen.

Opportunities

We live in a world where logical thinking and a bank account opens up many doors of opportunities for those seeking success. God does not work this way, although many attempt to use these worldly methods. When we are walking the path God lays out for us each day, the opportunities will open up for us along the way. We do not have to lean to our own understanding to see results. We just have to lean to Him. ~ DickEvans.org

He is Our Guide

Even though we don’t heed God’s hand waving us onto the right path, He still follows us. He follows us into the enemy camp. He is ever present, ready to take up battle for us, waiting for us to call out to Him. Not only does He precede and follow us, He sent the Holy Spirit to reside within us. He comforts and guides us daily, as we allow Him. God’s hand is always on our head, blessing us as we do His will. ~ DickEvans.org

We Sin

Being a believer does not give us a “Get out of Sin Free” card to be used all the time. We are to not sin anymore. But we do slip up. All we have to do is admit to our wrong, thank Him for his forgiveness and repent; change our thinking by focusing on Jesus and not on our sin, ~ DickEvans.org

The World

Just because we accepted Jesus as our Lord and Savior, we sometimes think that life is supposed to be rosy all the time. We think it is simple math; Christ in equals evil out. Becoming a believer changes us from the inside out. It does not change our external environment. We still live in an evil world, but we are no longer of the world. ~ DickEvans.org

Trials

As the trials come our way, let’s make an effort to patiently endure them even if our old nature wants to strike out with impatience or even anger. Lean on Holy Spirit for guidance and encouragement. He will never leave us or fail us. He is always with us no matter how difficult the trial. ~ DickEvans.org

Tuned In

If you don’t tune in to the station on your car radio, you will never hear it. We must ask God to open our eyes and our ears each day so we are tuned in to what He has for us to do. When we are tuned in, He will do miraculous things as we walk forth doing His work. ~ DickEvans.org

All One

Galatians 3:28 NLT
There is no longer Jew or Gentile, slave or free, male and female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I just got another advertisement in the mail for new vehicles. They are certainly tempting with their new features and styles and colors. What choices we have, even the choice of getting one or keeping the one we have. The ads entice us to choose theirs.

No matter how far we get in this culture it seems we keep falling back. Men are pitted against women and blacks against whites. And yet, as believers, we are all one. Father God sees us as we will be in heaven for eternity. We are in Christ and He is in us.

So in these earthen vessels we may see us as different, but we are not. When we look at someone of a different gender or color, who do we see? Do we see the child of God inside or the outward appearance?

So it is not that black lives matter or white lives or any one group of people. All matter to our Father God. That is why He sent Jesus to live among us and suffer for us on the cross. He sent Jesus so that all might be saved.

The Book

As we go about our day to day activities, people who know about the book watch us. Yes, those that have their names already written down and those that don’t. They watch to see if we are really who we claim to be; they look to see how we treat others; how we live our life. There are many who are watching you that need to get the same eternal life insurance policy that you have. ~ DickEvans.org

Saving Grace

It is through God’s grace that we are saved. It is God that saves us; not special words or special ministers or special meetings. We testify about Jesus in our lives and others listen. As we live our lives centered in Christ, they listen. However, we do not save them. God does it all. So let us tell our story to someone new today and watch what God does. ~ DickEvans.org

Acceptance

By loving one another we accept others just where they are at. We hope others do the same with us. If a non-believer wrongs us, we accept it and move on. We don’t become angered and strike back at them; we don’t seek revenge. If other believers rub us the wrong way, we look past the error to the love that is inside of them; to Christ within. ~ DickEvans.org

Eyes on God

Keep your eye on God. Ask for the wisdom to know what is from Him and always check what you see against the Word of God. Make sure the gospel that is being preached lines up with the Word, then the signs that follow will be from the one true God. ~ DickEvans.org

His Love

We know that God loves us. That is why He sent Jesus to walk the earth and had Him die on the cross for all our sins, past, present, and future.. He came to show us the way; the way to everlasting life. As our relationship with Him grows, we come to new levels of understanding of just how deep that love for us really is. ~ DickEvans.org

Hard Work

It is one thing to help someone that is in need to get through their period of need. We should all do that, but are we feeding them fish or teaching them to fish for themselves? That is the question. Let’s continue to help those brothers and sisters that are in need. If they need to learn how to fish, let’s show them how. Let them learn by observing the tradition of hard work that you follow. ~ DickEvans.org

Wild Sheep

No longer are we lost sheep. Jesus found us and the Father awakened us to follow His Son. But many of us are wild sheep.

On Sundays we gather with His flock and worship Him. We Listen to a scripture led message which may be the only scripture we hear all week long

We leave the fellowship of the church, the body of Christ, to go back to the world. We become like wild sheep going from place to place.

Don't get me wrong here. We need to be in the world but not of the world. We should be sheep that are obedient to the Word of God because of who we are in Christ; who we became when He took residence in our heart.

Thank you Father for having Holy Spirit encouraging me to be in prayer daily. To be reading Your Word every day. For listening for your voice guiding my steps. Thank you I am not one of those wild sheep. In Jesus name I pray.

Visiting Ministry

Most important is taking care of visiting ministry in prayer. While they are speaking a team of prayer warriors in constant prayer will back them up in ways you cannot imagine. The battle is always waging between good and evil. It is through our prayers that the walls can come down. When that happens, miracles happen; God’s signs and wonders unfold in marvelous ways. So the next time an evangelist or visiting minister comes to town, find out what you can do to take care of them. ~ DickEvans.org

First Love

God wants us to get back to the starting point; back to the place where enthusiasm drove us. He wants us back to the new car smell and excitement about telling everyone about Jesus. Isn’t it time to get back to your first love, today? ~ DickEvans.org

Continue

We must continue in the teaching of Christ. We must be in His Word daily, not only the words of others. All that we read from others must be tested by the Truth we find in the Bible. It is through His Word that we will have fellowship with the Father and with Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Success

God's Word is clear. We are not told to hate the things of this world. We are told not to place them above our God and our love for His children. Success is not about what we have in this journey through life. It is about who we are in Christ. ~ Dick Evans.org
