His Promises

2 Corinthians 1:20 NKJV
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

I recently saw this quote on Social Media: "It is impossible to walk with God without patience. It is required to receive His promises."

First of all, I believe that patience is not about waiting. It is about what we do while we wait. And the Great Commision does a good job showing us what we are to do. We are to go... (Mark 16:15-18)

I believe thinking we are required to wait to receive His promises is old covenant thinking. Under the new covenant, all His promises are yes and amen. The only work is to believe in the one the Father sent. (John 6:29) There is no longer any "if" to walk in any promise. Jesus fulfilled it all at the cross.

No longer are we burdened with having to "do" to receive. We walk in the age of grace not law. The promised inheritance is ours. The only thing stopping us from receiving every promise is us. Nothing is impossible with God. (Matthew 9:26) Just receive. (Matthew 21:22) Walk in it.

Father God, thank you for sending Jesus. Thank you, Jesus, for all you have done for us. Thank you for fulfilling the law so we would no longer be under its burden, For paying our sin debt and freeing us forevermore.

Warned

We are to encourage others every day in their faith. We are to warn them not to turn away from God; not to fall into the traps of evil that are set for each of us daily. We are to warn each other so that none of us will be deceived by the enemy. ~ DickEvans.org

Dig

We cannot just listen once to the truth. We must dig into His word and hear it over and over and over again. We must take that next step after salvation and allow Holy Spirit who is in us to guide us through the transformation of our soul. It does not just happen automatically. We have to pursue it. ~ DickEvans.org

Generosity

Generosity means more than sending a check to a charity. Generosity means more than giving out of our excess. Generosity means giving something to someone else because of their need. It means putting ourselves out to help someone else. ~ DickEvans.org

Oaths

God's Word tells us never to take an oath. (James 5:12) And that oaths are openings for the enemy to slide in. That is not what I want to happen to me. I want all those doors closed. I want to abide in His Word in my life. ~ DickEvans.org

Judging

The only one we should be criticizing or judging is our self. We know what God wants of us and our job is to obey Him, not judge others. ~ DickEvans.org

Marriage

2 Corinthians 11:1-3 NLT
I hope you will put up with a little more of my foolishness. Please bear with me. For I am jealous for you with the jealousy of God himself. I promised you as a pure bride to one husband-Christ. But I fear that somehow your pure and undivided devotion to Christ will be corrupted, just as Eve was deceived by the cunning ways of the serpent.

We are the sons and daughters of God. We are the bride of Christ. And He is grooming us to be a pure bride without a spot or blemish for our wedding day with Him.

Speaking of a wedding and therefore marriage. It is wonderful to live in America where husbands and wives live under Biblical principles.

Ephesians 5:24-26 NLT
As the church submits to Christ, so you wives should submit to your husbands in everything. For husbands, this means love your wives, just as Christ loved the church. He gave up his life for her to make her holy and clean, washed by the cleansing of God's word.

A marriage succeeds when those principles are followed. When they each treat each other with love and respect. When each realizes that their happiness together is not 50-50. That each is 100% responsible for the outcome.

I can't imagine living in another area of the world where wives are treated like servants created to serve their masters...their husbands.

In Christ, we are all equal. Male and female. In heaven as well. Made to worship the Father in all we do now and forevermore.
