Move On

Real Joy

Our real joy can only come from the Lord. Anything else is but a temporary fix dreamed up with human thought. As our relationship with Jesus builds, so builds our joy. ~ DickEvans.org

His Words

The Holy Spirit wants us to speak the words He gives us. Yet how often do we fall back on our training and formulate our own message instead? We must learn to put aside our words of human wisdom. We must let His words come forth. ~ DickEvans.org

They Will Come

When we go out to do the work God has destined us to do, He is with us. We are never alone. He tells us that many in the city are His; many are ready to receive the message we have to give. All it takes is for us to open our mouths and they will come and follow Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Character Change

We need to turn control over to the Holy Spirit. It is up to us to allow Him to work in our day to day lives. The more often we do that, the quicker the character changes can take place; the quicker others will see the mind of Christ evident in our lives. ~ DickEvans.org

They Are Ready

As believers we are to go into the world and preach the gospel. Not everyone we tell believes, even when we press on in our enthusiasm. Not everyone we tell is able to hear the truth. But if God has opened their heart, they are ready to receive His word; appointed to eternal life. ~ DickEvans.org

The Key

When we received Christ, we also received all the treasures. All we need is the key to unlock it. The key is the Holy Spirit and all we need to do is listen. As we go doing what He puts in our path our relationship with Him grows, He unfolds more and more wisdom and knowledge to us. ~ DickEvans.org

Put Him In Charge

When we asked Jesus into our heart, He came to live in us. His Spirit lives in each and every one of us who believe. Now if we maintain our old level of control by staying in the driver's seat, we are liable to fall short and sin. If we let Him do the driving, we cannot sin because He does not sin. Once And Forever

For centuries man had sacrificed animals to God in the hope that their sins would be forgiven. Jesus came and gave His life for us. He became the final sacrifice. His blood secured our salvation forever and that was a once and forever event. ~ DickEvans.org

His Time

God created it all, why can't He fix what we want Him to fix right now? But with God, there is no beginning or end. There is no time as we know it here on earth. He fulfills all of His promises and in His time. ~ DickEvans.org

New Laws

We must not let any "new" law -- made by a man perhaps even a well-meaning Christian in leadership or rules made by the church -- get in the way of who we are in Christ. We are NOT under the law unless we let ourselves become under law! ~ DickEvans.org

Preach And Make Disciples

Jesus told us to go and preach the gospel, to make disciples. He did not say to get the required years of schooling first. No, He was speaking to you and me, to ordinary men and women. And because of the relationship we have with Him, they will recognize us as men and women that have been with Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Listen

Sometimes what we want to do for God is not what God has for us to do. We were so busy working at what we wanted that we missed what He was trying to tell us. Let's take the time today to try to understand what the Lord has for us to do. ~ DickEvans.org

Light It Up

Like a candle placed in the middle of a dark room, God's presence in us can light up the darkest places exposing the evil deeds that are found there. But it is up to us to invade that darkness; it will not come to us. ~ DickEvans.org

Press On

As we press on to know God, our relationship with Him grows and we can depend on His response whenever we call out to Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Relationships

We must develop relationships with other believers that last and that are deep enough for us to truly meet together; to allow others to not only encourage but to admonish. And we must be willing to meet with others in their times of great need so that we can be there to hold up their arms when they need it most. ~ DickEvans.org

Do Not Worry

God says not to worry about tomorrow. He is not saying the future will just unfold itself like the pages of a book. He is telling us that no matter what our plans, not to worry about them. He is with us and with Him to guide us, nothing is impossible. ~ DickEvans.org

Turn Back

God has watched us wander off in search of our own thing. He has not left us, but we might think so because our focus has not been on Him. As we repent, turn back from our worldly ways, and focus on Him, we will find Him there. ~ DickEvans.org

Spread The Word

Jesus wants us to spread the word among all we come in contact with. He wants us to share our experiences with them; to tell our story of how we got to know Jesus. This is what the Great Commission is all about. ~ DickEvans.org

Communication

We need to realize that the Lord is only a push button away. He is always standing by waiting for us to call on Him. Communication with God all day long will keep us alert and keep us in that attitude of prayer. ~ DickEvans.org

With Enthusiasm

In all that we do we are to work with enthusiasm as though we were working for the Lord. As we serve others we are serving God. As others observe how we work, they are observing what kind of a person we really are. ~ DickEvans.org

Action

As we act on that generous nature in us because of our new birth, we come to an understanding of all the good things Holy Spirit can do through us. The understanding does not precede the generous actions, it follows them. ~ DickEvans.org

Our Example

We can preach to others about right and wrong. We can talk about how we are to live our lives according to the Word of God. However, our actions speak louder than our words. Others look to our example and follow it before they follow the guidelines we preach about. ~ DickEvans.org

Newborns

New believers are like newborn children; they are born again and need to be nurtured through their newfound childhood into becoming mature believers. Left on their own in the wilderness, they might mature into a tree bearing forth crab apples. As believers, it is up to us to disciple those who are new. As we let Christ's love flow through us, they will learn and grow so that many will desire their fruit. ~ DickEvans.org

Temptation

We will all be tempted. There is no way around it. Even Jesus was tempted in the garden by Satan. Being tempted is not a sin. Giving in to the temptation may be. Doing the tempting certainly is and God warns us not to be that person. ~ DickEvans.org

What Come In

What comes into us does not have to defile us. We choose to let it change us by what we do with it. We must watch what we allow to stay, for it can build us up or defile us. It is up to us to stay on track. ~ DickEvans.org

They Knew Us

Those who knew us before notice the change in us and ask us about the difference. Then we share our new birth experience with them. Now they know about Jesus but will still not understand until they accept Him. ~ DickEvans.org

The Difference

The miraculous does not prove the existence of God, it is a serendipity of His presence. Others believe because of what He has done in our lives and through our lives. They see the difference in who we were, in who we have become since getting to know Jesus. ~ DickEvans.org

Pray For Each Other

God tells us to open up to each other, to pray for each other. We are each called to lay hands on the sick and Jesus tells us that we will see them recover. ~ DickEvans.org
