Business Relationship?

How many of us have a business relationship with God? We turn to Him when we have a need for Him. Most of the time, we take care of business without Him. Yet we claim to belong to the Lord. Are we deceived? The Lord knows who are His. He wants a permanent relationship with us.DickEvans.org

God has the plan

We cannot defeat this evil world for Christ, Jesus has already defeated it. We have to learn to trust Him to make a pathway for us. Often we try to figure out what He is having us do and mark out our own way to get there. But He has the plan. We just have to trust Him to open up the doors for us to fulfill it. ~ DickEvans.org

Quiet Time

How can we have quiet time, time to be alone with God, when all these other things are competing for our time? We have to make a conscious decision to allow heaven to fill our thoughts. We make time to watch football. We also have to make to be with Him. It is a matter of life and death. ~ DickEvans.or

Ask Anything

Some believe anything asked for in Jesus name will be granted and given to them. And they ask for some way out things. They seem to forget that whatever we ask will be granted, provided that the request lines up with His will. ~ DickEvans.org

The Truth

How many of us used to believe that as long as you were a good person you would go to heaven? You also need to believe in God. That was the Good News to us before we knew the Truth. And it was the Truth that set us free. ~ DickEvans.org

Treasure

Treasures are not only in the form of money. The very gifts that God has created us with are more valuable than silver and gold. Our creativity comes straight from Him, for He is the great creator and we are made in His image. ~ DickEvans.org

Freedom

Galatians 5:13 NLT
For you have been called to live in freedom, my brothers and sisters. But don’t use your freedom to satisfy your sinful nature. Instead, use your freedom to serve one another in love.

We are proud to live in the land of the free. This country was founded by settlers who came to be free from the bondage they were experiencing in their homeland. They came here to be able to worship God as they desired; as He was leading them.

Then this nation broke free from the country that claimed this land was theirs. We became the United States of America. Each July we celebrate that freedom. But that is not the freedom this verse is all about.

We who have asked Jesus to be Lord of our life have been called to live in freedom because of what Jesus did for us when He was crucified on the cross. He died so we could be free. He died taking with Him all our sin--past, present, and future.

Jesus paid the price so we could be free of the guilt of sin. You see, we are human beings and as such continue to do wrong even though we want to only do right. We have an enemy that continues to tempt us to take the wrong path; to make the wrong choice.

We are no longer sinners. We were saved by grace. But we do sin as we live and learn along this transformation walk we are all on. As we become more Christ like the incidences of sin lessens.

Jesus died to pay the debt for our sins forevermore. However, this does not mean we have a license to sin. No, we are called to live a righteous life, but our human nature and an enemy desirous of tripping us up to make it impossible to not fall into sin as we live this life.

So we cannot do whatever we like. We are to follow Holy Spirit's lead and live a Christ like life daily knowing that when we do make a wrong choice, Holy Spirit is there to correct us and Jesus is there to forgive us.

Each day is a series of choices. Lord, help us make them in line with your will and not our own.

With His Will

God did not tell us we could have anything we asked for. He told us that in the name of Jesus what lined up with the will of the Father we would see happen. ~ DickEvans.org

Respond To His Voice

Many of us want to hear God clearly and more often. But are we going to obey what we hear Him tell us? We expect Him to respond immediately to our prayer. Perhaps He expects us to respond immediately to His response. ~ DickEvans.org

Do It

We can be hearing directly from God as He reveals himself to us thru His word. But as good as all the information is, if we don't act on it obeying God's word to us, it does nothing to propel us forward. It is like looking in the mirror and doing nothing to fix what we see. ~ DickEvans.org

Confusion

The key to removing confusion is building relationship. If we stay close to Jesus, worshipping Him and giving Him thanks, our minds will stay focused and not become dark or confused. ~ DickEvans.org

He is omnipresent

The Lord is close by all the time. He is omnipresent. Yet He awaits our call. If we reach out and call on Him sincerely, He will respond. How do I know that? I know that because He tells us so. ~ DickEvans.org

He Forgave

Thank God for Jesus who died for us at the cross and forgave all our sin, past, present, and future. Our sin debt has been paid in full. ~ DickEvans.org

Find Your Reward

It is in Christ that true happiness is found. This does not mean you cannot have money to enjoy the things of this world if you have Him in your life. No, it means that you will no longer be pursuing money. And in your pursuit of Him, you will find your reward. ~ DickEvans.org

Waiting On God

1 Corinthians 4:5
Therefore do not go on passing judgment before the time, but wait until the Lord comes who will both bring to light the things hidden in the darkness and disclose the motives of men's hearts, and then each man's praise will come to him from God.

I hear this often. 'I am waiting on God.' People seem to think once they have prayed for it then all that is left is to wait for Him.

Holy Spirit is ready to show you the way to go. He shows you opportunities. He teaches you as you go forth and allow Him to work through you.

He didn't come into our lives to do it for us but rather through us. As we follow the path He has for us we see what we have prayed for happen and we grow in the knowledge of Him.

Our wait on God is for His return not for His solution.

I believe waiting on God means directing your attention to Him in hopeful anticipation of what He will do. It entails trusting Him with every fiber of your being, instead of trying to figure things out yourself.

Believe it and receive it.

The Veil

When we preach the Good News, we never know who the words are being spoken to. When that spark of hope reaches the person God intends it to reach, they reach forward with that seed of faith and turn to the Lord. The veil is removed from their eyes and for the first time they see what was hidden and are saved. ~ DickEvans.org

Shaky Legs

As shaky as our legs might be, God will enable us to stand firm when His words are pouring forth from our obedient month. That is the key, being obedient to the Holy Spirit. When that happens, we touch those we are destined to touch. It has little to do with the amount of information we received in our education and has everything to do with revelation that leads us into our transformation. ~ DickEvans.org

Remember

In all we do, we must remember that we are an example to others. Good or bad, our life speaks volumes to them. May we listen to the words of Jesus and be the example He has set us out to be. ~ DickEvans.org

Our Fruit

We need to step back and see how others see us. We need to look for the fruit in our lives. Does it line up with the fruit we profess? Then we need to ask Holy Spirit to guide us into all Truth. ~ DickEvans.org

Eternal Life

It is the Spirit who gives eternal life, not our day to day works and the gift of eternal life is free. All we have to do to receive it is ask for it -- ask in faith and we will receive it. Once saved, our works take on a new dimension as Holy Spirit instructs and guides us. With Him; we already possess our salvation and His grace--no works required. ~ DickEvans.org

Listen

We must have the courage to warn without criticism our fellow believers so they are not pulled down into the pit with their fellow workers in the world. And we must be willing to receive the same warnings ourselves. We must listen to the Holy Spirit and listen to our brothers and sisters in Christ as they too listen to the Holy Spirit. ~ DickEvans.org

Lifestyle

Ephesians 3:10 NIV
For we are God's handiwork, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.

What does your lifestyle say about what you believe? About who you are in Christ?

Have you accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior to just go back to who you were without Him?

If so, then I would question your sincerity about asking Jesus into your heart. You see, He knows your heart. 

You might fool that person who convinced you to seek Jesus, but never Him. The Holy Spirit is not in you as evidenced by your lack of evidence of the fruit of the spirit as well as your obvious passion for your old lifestyle. 

A born again believer no longer desires the old way of life. He or she has seen the light and wants to be even closer to it, not further from it. 

Yes, there is a process and it takes a lifetime to fully divorce from our old lifestyle. It can be a constant pulling away. As we trust more and more in He who is in us, our transformation becomes more evident to others. 

For some, this is a quick process and for others, it can be a slow one. But fast or slow it is happening throughout our new life in Christ. 

Christ is in us and we in Him. No matter how long it takes, He promises to never leave us or forsake us. He is in us for the long haul no matter how much we mess up in life. 

As we delve into His word and practice His presence daily, we grow and receive more and more of the mind of Christ. 

Believe it and receive it!

Never Stop

God time is not a parsed out piece of our life; as a believer, it is our life. Wherever we are we need to praise Him and look to Holy Spirit to guide us and teach us and use us. We must never, never stop doing what He has called us to do. ~ DickEvans.org

Open Our Mouth

The words of Christ live in our hearts and those words came from our digesting His Word and from the Holy Spirit through our relationship with Him. When He places someone in our path, we simply open our mouth and let His words speak to others to teach and to counsel them. ~ DickEvans.org

Shout It Out

The good news is not something to be whispered in closed rooms or only at church on Sunday. The Good News is for us to shout out just like we shout out our excitement about that last ballgame or movie we watched. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Careful

We have to be careful that these teachings from others don't pull us away from the Good News; careful that they are not bringing us down a side path that is not fully truth. We need to stick to God's Word and listen to His voice letting Holy Spirit teach us and guide us in all that we do. ~ DickEvans.org

Deception

The enemy makes many earthly ideas seem wonderful to us for he is an expert in the art of deception. We must rely on Holy Spirit to lead us and not our own thoughts. We must follow His plan and not ours. ~ DickEvans.org

How We React

The fruit of our salvation is expressed in how we react to what the world system throws up in our face. The enemy knows he has lost the battle, but that does not mean that he has stopped fighting. He places evil and temptation in our path. But it is our choices that determine our path and that is not always the path God has for us, but He sticks with us and guides us through whatever trials and tribulations the enemy uses to block our journey. ~ DickEvans.org

Worthy Am I

2 Corinthians 3:17
Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

I used to say “we” when I referred to myself. I would say it meant me, myself, and I. Now I realize the “we” was me and Holy Spirit who was guiding me into all truth.

The me that is in Christ whose spirit is joined with my spirit is the we of me. I am worthy because He is worthy.

The Me I used to be, the Me who is being transformed into the image of Christ does unworthy things. He tries to do good but falls short.

God sees the worthy me when He looks at me. He sees me covered in the blood of His Son crucified for my sins and the sins of all mankind so we could be free.

In Christ, I am worthy because we are worthy. Thank you, Jesus, for being in me giving me your liberty. Giving me freedom from the bondage of this earthly life.

Be The Light

We are to be a light in dark places, but we are not be overcome by that darkness. We must be careful each day. We must charge our batteries fully and walk forth ready to spread His love wherever He sends us. ~ DickEvans.org

Tell Someone

People become believers of Christ because we tell others about our experiences. They hear the Good News and it spreads rapidly. Isn't today a good day to tell someone? ~ DickEvans.org

The Example

As God's children, we are not to look to others as an example of what to do. We are to look to Jesus. He sets the example. ~ DickEvans.org
