Listen to God

All too often man makes decisions based on human logic instead of reaching out to God. We spend time and money to get closer to man. We listen to man telling us what is best, what God wants us to pursue. It is time to listen to God. ~ DickEvans.org

Possible

There is a place in God where nothing is impossible. It is that place where the faith of the believer is beyond the limits of the natural. You have the God kind of faith. Walk in it! ~ DickEvans.org

Prosper

Sometimes we think prosper and we automatically think money. Yet is prosperity only about money? Of course not... We prosper in happiness, in joy, in good health, in the place we live, in the friends we have and the list goes on and on. ~ DickEvans.org

Slaves

We are no longer slaves but we are in an employee/employer relationship. We should be happy on our jobs. Smile about the fact that you have one. Serve your employer well. Scripture tells us to respect his position and serve him as you would if he were the Lord Himself. ~ DickEvans.org

Perfection

There is no perfection in man. There is not perfection here on earth. Yet, in God perfection exists. He is limitless and He is timeless. Step out into what He has for you today. Is that not His command to you? ~ DickEvans.org

Good and Evil

Good is what comes from God and evil is what comes from Satan. When we mess up and are overcome by evil and call out to Him, He rescues us once again. The only way to know God is through His Word and our relationship with Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Truth

John 8:32
And you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free.

Just because we have learned it does not make it so. We can believe a lie. And no mater how much we believe the lie it is still not true. It is knowing the truth about Christ that sets us free.

It is about knowing who we are in Christ. For he abides in us as we abide in him. That truth sets us free from the enemy and guides us on a journey through this earthly life to a life and eternity.

I believe what we know, the knowledge that we have gained through books and other learned people does not set us free. Freedom comes from grabbing a hold of the truth for yourself.

Once we know that we know deep down in our knower and step out in that truth acting on what the Holy Spirit leads us to. The more we step out the greater our faith becomes and the more closer we become in our relationship with God.

Wisdom

Does the word disciple mean to impart our wisdom on every new believer? It can sure look that way when we are impressed with our own wisdom. As we lean on Holy Spirit, we follow His lead and His wisdom. ~ DickEvans.org

His Light

Let His light engulf you each day, each moment of each day. Then you will be filled with His joy and others will feel His presence when they are in yours. ~ DickEvans.org

Take Time

Without time each day with our Father God, our Creator, how can we expect to grow in wisdom? For is it not His wisdom that we seek? Take time for Him each day. ~ DickEvans.org

Just Ask

So "ask and you shall receive" is not only about asking of God and expecting His response. No, it is true every day with your loved ones, friends and associates. Or to put it another way, "If you don't ask how can you expect to receive?" ~ DickEvans.org

Its Time

Isn't is time to stop deciding for ourselves what we want to do for God and time to listen to Him. For it is He that calls us into the service He has for us. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Imitators

We imitate what we associate with. We purposely imitate what we intend to and unconsciously imitate what has been taken in deep inside of us. And the more we get to know God, the more what He would have us do becomes unconsciously done. "Be imitators of God" because you have decided to. ~ DickEvans.org

How We Change

Galatians 5:16-18 NIV
So I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh. For the flesh desires what is contrary to the Spirit, and the Spirit what is contrary to the flesh. They are in conflict with each other, so that you are not to do whatever you want. But if you are led by the Spirit, you are not under the law.

Many Christians seem to believe it is our job to change ourselves to be the person Jesus wants us to be. We work at fixing ourselves and others; working to become Christ like by our own power.

God sent us Holy Spirit to be with us, to be in us. Our spirit is one with Holy Spirit.

As we understand who we are in Christ, in the Spirit, He initiates change in us. His word tells us He teaches us all things.

He makes this obvious to a new believer when something they have been struggling with leaves instantly. Like no longer using coarse language, no longer desiring to smoke, no longer... These are things that we had in our life that just left as soon as we decided to follow Jesus.

As we are changing we need to be with other Spirit filled believers. When we are walking on the same path we can grow together and hold each other up.

May we walk being led by the Holy Spirit in all we do and say and allowing Him to help us make our choices as we go about our day...allowing Him to help us change the way we think and act and speak.

Treasure

Time to Build

There is no work to do to keep the gift of salvation. Now is the time to spend building a relationship with God. Just because you asked Jesus into your heart does not mean that you are finished. No, the work has just begun; His work in you and through you. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Silent

Be silent, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world. (Psalms 46:10)

It is the "Be silent" part that seems to be the problem. We are so caught up in our day-to-day stuff that we do not take the time to be silent and to listen to Him. We don't silence the world around us so we can hear Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Face Time

God is bigger than anyone. He is the creator of the universe. And He wants us to seek His face. He wants us to come and talk with Him. He wants face time with each of us. ~ DickEvans.org

Take Action

As believers we have been given the Holy Spirit. We need to listen to what He tells us each day. And most importantly, we need to take action on what we hear Him tell us. For no matter what "size" faith we have, without action our faith is as dead. ~ DickEvans.org

Continue

Continue the good fight. Work daily to walk in the spirit and not in the flesh. Listed to Holy Spirit as He points towards the mark so you will not stumble or fall away. ~ DickEvans.org

Sin No More

When we slip back and realize we have sinned we need to get out eyes on Christ and off of our error. We have been forgiven forevermore. Thank God His grace covers us even as we take our eyes off of Him. Jesus told us to Go and sin no more. ~ DickEvans.org

How We Walk

Romans‬ ‭8:1‬ ‭NKJV
There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.

We are followers of Jesus, born again believers. When we first believed, Holy Spirit, the spirit of Christ, came to live in us. His spirit and our spirit became joined, united forever as one spirit.

This verse does not say we have to tread carefully in our daily walk. It does not say there is condemnation for those that mess up in their walk. We all are guilty of that but the Father only sees us as one joined with the spirit of His Son, Jesus.

This verse is declaring that as born again believers we walk by the spirit and not by the flesh because that is who we are. Our walk is covered by God's Grace in all we do. As we make mistakes we learn to walk closer with Him. His mercies are new every morning. We learn to listen more to Holy Spirit as He directs our steps and teaches us all things.

Be Thankful

There are many things we are thankful for, but how many times do we forget to thank God? We should try to see the good that is in all our circumstances. Each day be joyful, be thankful and be continuously in prayer. ~ DickEvans.org

Attitude

We need to stop holding on to the past. We must forgive and forget so we can have a winning attitude and truly walk forward in what God has called us to do. After all, God has fully forgiven us. ~ DickEvans.org

Choose God

We should think about what advice we receive from others and choose to take it or to dismiss it. That is the key. We get to choose. So choose God's ways and not the ways of the wicked, the sinners or the scoffers. ~ DickEvans.org

Eternal Inheritance

You pay that life insurance bill each month to insure your heirs finances should you die. How about insuring your eternal inheritance as well?  Begin a relationship with God. Ask Him into your life today. ~ DickEvans.org

Do

God has planted a message in your heart. His word is not just to read and to listen to when others are delivering a message. No, it is to do. Without the "do" what good is the word? ~ DickEvans.org

Focus on God

Put simply, sin is anything that takes our focus off of God. If He is for it, it is not sin. If He is against it, it is sin. So stay the course. Stay in His word daily. Walk not in the flesh but in the spirit. Keep your eyes on Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Never Be Disappointed

1 Peter 2:6
As the Scriptures express it, "I am placing a stone in Jerusalem, a chosen cornerstone, and anyone who believes in him will never be disappointed." (NLT)

Does this mean that all we have to do is believe in Him and disappointment will never cross our path ever again? No, I believe there is a lot more to it. You see it is one thing to believe in your heart and accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior and another to be walking the walk He has for you while you are on this earthly journey.

"The stone rejected by the builders has now become the cornerstone." (Psalms 118:22) And this is what 1 Peter is referring to; for Jesus Christ is that stone.

Faith in action is the "believers" this passage is speaking about. As you walk forth in faith following the leading of Holy Spirit you will never be disappointed in the fruit of those labors. He will always be there fulfilling His part of the promise given for all believers.

As your relationship with God increases your disappointments decrease. The more you ask of Him the more you will receive. The more you walk with Him, the more He can show you the path to take.

God First

How many of us, when we get that headache, turn to a bottle of pills instead of to God. For how many of us is prayer the last option, the one we take when all else fails? God will always be with us but we must call on Him. He will never let us down. ~ DickEvans.org

Gossip

We need to listen to that still small voice and remain on the path that will lead to victory. And when others are eager to tell us the latest gossip, we need to turn a deaf ear and move on. ~ DickEvans.org
