The Right Path

We are here on earth for a short time and can either poke along figuring everything out as we make mistakes, learn from them and move on to the next event in our lives. Or we can let the one who created us show us the right path to take. ~ DickEvans.org

Take Time

Take time to say a prayer for others. Take time to reach out to them and give them a hand up. Our good fortune is not just for us. No, we are to share with others as He shared with us. ~ DickEvans.org

Influence

Beware of those you allow in your inner circle. For the ability to influence others goes both ways. Watch what you do. Watch what you say. Remember that He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Lined Up

There is a spiritual level we cannot see. Some glimpse it. Some feel a presence. Even though we may not see it, the activity does affect us. Decisions we know nothing about often play a part in our everyday decisions. The key is to be lined up with good. Be lined up with He who created you. Be lined up with God. ~ DickEvans.org

But Lord

1 Peter 2:24 NLT

He personally carried our sins in his body on the cross so that we can be dead to sin and live for what is right. By his wounds you are healed.

I am free indeed. Jesus did it all at the cross. He took away my sin debt. He took all sickness and disease and infirmity. All the curses are gone. All the promises are yes and amen. 

We read scripture that tells us this. We sing songs old and new that reinforce all we have heard. And we say we believe. 

And yet when the enemy comes against us in our health we say but Lord. We run to the ER and the doctors for a diagnosis. We begin to beg God for Jesus to step down from heaven and heal us. 

Is it that we forgot what Jesus went to the cross for? He did it all and said "it is finished". 

But Lord. Why do we keep allowing the enemy a door to come in and bring us back to a place we were. Jesus did it all and all we have to do is believe it and receive it. Our total health is in Christ. He is not our backup. He is our all in all. In Him we trust wholly. 

His word tells us to just believe. How can we stop giving the enemy a hold on us? He who is in us is greater than anything the enemy can throw at us. Right? 

I want to believe it. I want to receive the healing, deliverance, and freedom that became ours at the cross. It became ours the moment we said "Yes Jesus I will follow you!"

Father, thank you for loving me the way I am. Thank you for using the medical profession to fill in the gap for me. They are the professionals and you are the healer. Guide me into the path you have for me to take. I trust in You.

Temptation

Temptation is all around us. It is so easy to be gently pulled back into those things not of God that we have been released from. Be careful about getting comfortable. ~ DickEvans.org

Be Holy

We said that we wanted Jesus to be our Lord. So we need to let Him do that. We need to let Him have Holy Spirit direct our steps, direct our thoughts, direct our reasoning so that we can "be holy in everything we do, just as God." ~ DickEvans.org

What We Do

You have heard the saying, "Don't do as I do. Do as I say." That is as far away from scripture as you can get. For what we do does tell others what they should do. How we react "under the circumstances" of life is the way those assigned to our care learn from us. ~ DickEvans.org

Experience

Until we have our own experiences with Jesus, we really only have touched the surface of knowledge. It is experiential knowledge that causes us to change direction. It is when something happens to you or with you involved that you can really speak about it, when you can testify with an enthusiasm, a realism that can be had no other way. ~ DickEvans.org

Relationship

It is time to get back to basics in relationship. And I am not only speaking of relationship with our spouse, our children, our siblings and our friends. No I am speaking also about our relationship with God. What are you doing today to follow His examples in your relationships? ~ DickEvans.org

Keep Your Eyes on the Goal

Keep your eyes on Jesus and the eternal goal and let nothing take you from it. And then your journey will be successful and your heart as pure as can be. ~ DickEvans.org

Christianity

Psalm 37:23 KJV
The steps of a good man are ordered by the Lord: and he delighteth in his way.

Christianity is not a religion. It is a lifestyle. It is walking in the spirit. It is being led by the Holy Spirit and not by the flesh.

The longer we practice His presence and allow Holy Spirit to lead our walk the more we become like minded; The more we receive the mind of Christ.

It is not about us moving around doing all the things we used to do with the Holy Spirit in us. It is about us being the vehicle to allow Him to move through us.

Holy Spirit leads the way and a good man follows; he obeys and takes a risk stepping out in faith.

Our Tongue

It is time we thought first and spoke second. That old saying of "Count to ten before you speak" is a good one to remember. Let's be an encourager with our tongue. Let's use our tongues to build up and not to tear down. ~ DickEvans.org

Meaningless

What is not meaningless is how we treat each other. And for that we only need to remember the most important commandment that Jesus taught us - (John 13:34 NLT) "So now I am giving you a new commandment: Love each other. Just as I have loved you, you should love each other." ~ DickEvans.org

Become

In the workplace become one of those employees with the right attitude, the attitude from the heart, that says, "I will serve you. I will obey with respect". They are the ones that move on and become the "earthly masters of tomorrow". ~ DickEvans.org

How Many?

How many are along the way each day for you? How many are doing their job and doing it well, yet you say nothing? How many wait on you each day and you say nothing? How many lives may have been changed because you simply opened your mouth as Jesus did that day? ~ DickEvans.org

Warn Them

When you see the enemy coming to take down those around you, do not turn the other way. We are all responsible watchman at times and we are responsible to "sound the alarm", warn those we are in relationship with. ~ DickEvans.org

Encourage Them

It is not for us to come between God and His relationship with someone else. We cannot tell someone else what God has for them to do. Only God can do that. We can only encourage others in their quest to know Him better. ~ DickEvans.org

Law

Hebrews 8:10 
I will put My laws in their mind and write them on their hearts. 

My old programming, what I was schooled in growing up in church, tells me the Ten Commandments are written in my heart so I will always follow them. However, were they not the laws of the old covenant? So what laws was God referring to?

Didn't He find fault with that covenant and declared it obsolete?

Hebrews 8:7-9,13 NKJV
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second. 8 Because finding fault with them, He says: “Behold, the days are coming, says the Lord, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah— 9 not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day when I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; because they did not continue in My covenant, and I disregarded them, says the Lord. 13 In that He says, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete. Now what is becoming obsolete and growing old is ready to vanish away.

The laws that God puts in our minds and writes on our hearts refer to the royal law of love,

Matthew 22:37-40 NKJV
37 Jesus said to him, “‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.’ 38 This is the first and great commandment. 39 And the second is like it: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ 40 On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”

the perfect law of liberty,

James 1:25 NKJV
25 But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

and the law of faith.

Romans 3:27 NKJV
27 Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? Of works? No, but by the law of faith.

These are the laws of the new covenant.

So walk forth in liberty. Step out in faith. And do all things in love. These are the laws now written on our hearts.

God's Standard

We have to look beyond human rules. God's standard is what we need to live by. It is His character we want to emulate, not societies. We need to turn to Holy Spirit for direction in all that we do. ~ DickEvans.org

Speaking to God

Prayer is not saying a memorized bunch of words over and over again. No, it is about having a relationship with God; about speaking to Him. It is about staying alert to His voice and being thankful to Him for all that happens each day. ~ DickEvans.org

His Time

To God a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years is like a day. So when Jesus says that He will be right back, He means in His time, not ours. He loves all His children and wants to see many more saved. ~ DickEvans.org

Power

As Spirit filled believers we have been given authority and power. Jesus said that we would do even greater things than He had done. But that does not come from knowing how to speak so that others follow. The power comes as we step out and obey the Holy Spirit; as we do what He asks of us. ~ DickEvans.org

Truth

There is only one truth and Holy Spirit leads us right to it. Jesus tells us “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” If the words we hear are not lining up with His words, with the Word of God, then we must close our ears and move on. ~ DickEvans.org

Joy

Our real joy can only come from the Lord. Anything else is but a temporary fix dreamed up with human thought. As our relationship with Jesus builds, so builds our joy. ~ DickEvans.org

Growing in Faith

Romans 12:3 KJV
For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

We are each given the measure of faith needed to reach out for him and believe. With that one act of faith we became born of the spirit and his word became alive in us.

2 Corinthians 1:20
For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us.

As we step out in faith accepting the truth of his word that all his promises are for us, we grow in faith.

Isaiah 55:11
So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; It shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, And it shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

Every time we walk out in that truth our level of faith becomes stronger and stronger. Once we truly knew one promise was true and then another, it became easier to take a risk and walk forth in another. His word is true and does not come back void.

Each time we read and believe a promise in His Word and step out in faith seeing it fulfilled our level of faith increases.

Romans 10:17
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.

I realized that faith does come by hearing the word but the increase comes by taking a risk and walking out on the promises in his word. We get more not by asking but by taking a risk. As we walk out his word our faith increases more and more.

If you want more faith, take that risk and grab ahold. All his promises are yes and amen.

His Words not Ours

When we become a believer and receive the Holy Spirit, He wants to fill our mouth with spiritual truths; He wants us to speak the words He gives us. Yet how often do we fall back on our training and formulate our own message instead? Lord, help me to put aside words of human wisdom. Let His words come forth. ~ DickEvans.org

He is with us

When we go out to do God’s work, the work He has destined us to do, He is with us. We are never alone. All it takes is for us to open our mouths and they will come and follow Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Changes

As we control over to the Holy Spirit, we allow Him to work in our day to day lives. The more often we do that, the quicker the character changes in us can take place; the quicker others will see the mind of Christ evident in our lives. ~ DickEvans.org

Salvation

As believers we are to go into the world and preach the gospel. But not everyone we tell believes, even when we press on in our enthusiasm. Salvation requires we believe in Jesus. He is the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by Him. ~ DickEvans.org

Treasures

When we received Christ, we also received all the treasures. So we have the treasure chest. The key is Holy Spirit. He unfolds more and more wisdom and knowledge to us. ~ DickEvans.org

Let Him Drive

Holy Spirit lives in each and every one of us who believe. Now if we maintain our old level of control by staying in the driver's seat, we are liable to fall short and sin. And we do. But if we let Him do the driving, we cannot sin because He does not sin. Isn't it time to put Him in charge? ~ DickEvans.org
